What does this ability do? Does it raise your morale? Does it reduce the enemy's? Does it let your units "check" to see if they will continue to route? Does it work multiple times in each battle or does it wear out?

it will regroup routed units if close enough to them,
For this to happen the unit must have more than a quarter of their strength, not be exhausted and is behind ur lines and away from pursing troops![]()

I am not sure about the exhausted part, because I have seen exhausted units at 1/3 strength stop routing and regroup without the rally ability. I have prevented my routing units from fleeing the field when they were exhausted. About the "behind your lines" I think you meant not in the proximity of an enemy unit, because as I have noticed, the enemy routing units do not regroup if one of my units is nearby. It is true however, that the unit has to be above quarter of the starting strength (if you started with 20 peltasts, and you have 6 peltasts left and they're routing, you can still use the Rally power with effect.
I use the Rally Ability very often, as a matter of fact, I use it in every battle I fight. It seems to lower the enemy morale as well as raise my unit's morale. Whenever an enemy unit is wavering, I get my general near that unit or charge the unit and then activate the power. It is a sure recipe for routing an enemy. The power can be re-activated in about 30-60 minutes with absolutely the same effect. Even when the enemy unit isn't wavering, the Rally power drops their morale to the next level (such as from "eager" to "steady" or from "steady" to "shaken", etc). I also believe that the more command stars a general has, the more effective the Rally power is, although that's just a logical conclusion, not a fact and I am not sure it is true. We could use Foot in this thread, I'm sure he would know.
I also use my rally power during battle or before a charge. it does seem to increase moral a little bit, im not 100% sure on lowering the enemy's though. I've had suspicions.

I also use the rally thing all the time.
It began on seven hills - an EB 1.1 Romani AAR with historical house-rules (now ceased)
Heirs to Lysimachos - an EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR with semi-historical houserules (now ceased)
Philetairos' Gift - a second EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR
if my general is on a horse i try to time it at the end of the battle so that hes frozen in some epic position with his horse on its hind legs and his sword waving in the air! lmao
