if I edit the number of soldiers in a given unit, I would need to restart the campaign right? say from the 40 default to 50 or 60??? it would not be save game compatible right?

I did try it. but it ruined my save game and basically crashes everytime I try to load the save game. I had backups for everything, so I compared the spacing, commas, everything, they were all correct.
I already have some of the units built, could that be causing the crashes? I know this isn't an EB bug, because the I modded the edu my self.
One experiment complete. Yes, I would think it might be savegame compatible if you have none of the units, but I wouldn't count on it.

This is how modding goes. You try till you can try no more.

ok, did a few more tests. so far zero crashes. I basically loaded a save game like 20 turns earlier with zero of the unit in question built. zero crashes after like 30 turns now.
lucky me I guess? I am just happy that this is working.
