Chancellor's Report Winter 264/ Spring 263:
Military: Caucasian Archers were raised in Mazaka to serve in the Garrison at Amaseia.
A depleted unit of Dahae Riders has reached the end of their enlistment contract for the Parthavan Army, they were mustered out and replaced by a homegrown unit of Parthian Horsearchers at Hekatompylos.
All units of the 1st Lydian Army stationed at Antiocheia have been retrained to full strength and been issued improved equipment.
Sinope has been captured! Strategos Cunobelinus Gedrosianos defeated the pretender king of Pontos in single combat, in his inimitable Celtic style, and Pontos is now properly returned to the direct control of Basileus Antiochus.
Construction: Provisional Military Government was instituted in Sinope, and the remnants of the old Pontic government have been dismantled. Drainage problems in Propthasia were solved by digging a ditch system. We have assisted the Galatian people in rebuilding their Government center after liberating them from the Pontic despots, and a new King has been elected, subject, of course, to our Basileus.
This season, outfitting and recruiting has begun for trade route scouting parties at Sardis, and a Sanctuary of Asklepios was begun in Ipsos.
Internal Affairs: Let us congratulate Theodotas T. Pisidikes on his wedding to Nikaia in Side.
Taxes have been temporarily lowered in Asaak to quell unrest there. There is still substantial unrest in Sinope after the governmental turnover, so taxes have been temporarily lowered to allow the residents to rebuild their lives after the recent war.
Epigenes has been elected by the Galatian people to be their new King. The new administration in Galatia is friendly to our regime, and has signed an agreement of mutual support and unity of foreign policy.
Foreign Affairs: No news of note.
Intelligence: Our forward scout Megasthenes has dicovered that Epeirote-occupied Bithynia and Byzantion are heavily militarized. Magas, another scout, has been placed on our border with Hayasdan to keep an eye out and report any news of note there.
On our southern border, agents report that the detachment from the Hierosolyma garrison has joined forces with Aretas Rhakoditios, probably to make another attempt at bungling the siege of Sidon, as he is wont to do. More forces are approaching our border from Aigyptos.
Misc.: Moved Sarpedon Syriakos and Mikithon K. Phoinikes toward Sardis as requested. The Army, however, has been left in Ankyra to keep order during the elections for Rix ton Galatikon (King). I've managed to gain the services of a Tamias, formerly in the employ of Polyxenidos Lykikos of Babylon.
