Thread: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports

  1. #931

Default Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports

Taking the Save. Done. Added 8302 to treasure (before turn end) to cover rebel upkeep. Moved Marsyas towards Alexandreia-Ariane. Moved Basileios' Hypaspistai toward RA. Moved Panaitolios and the 1st Lydian toward Pergamon and moved his reinforcements toward the army.

    Chancellor's Report-Ending Winter 246 BC

Military: Recruited Thureophoroi, Peltastai, and Galatikoi Kluddolon at Ipsos, Sardis, and Ankyra respectively for the 1st Lydian Army. Recruited Pantodapoi for the garrisons at Alexandreia-Ariane and Propthasia. Apeleutheroi from Propthasia were disarmed and awarded their freedom for their support during the Persian uprising. Retrained Caucasian Archers at Mazaka and Prodromoi at Alexandreia.

Construction: Melathron Epitropou started at Apameia, and Diallage Enchorios was instituted at Ammonion. Repairs were also made at Ammonion, to the Walls, Drainage system and the Temple of Zeus-Ammon.

Taxes were lowered in Ammonion to attempt to foster goodwill among the residents, and to help ease their transition into Seleukid rule. There is still some disorder though.

Internal Affairs: An emmissary, Pausanias H. Parthikes contacted the Argeads at Mytilene with a very reasonable peace offer, unfortunately he was denied and insulted while the vile Argeads proceeded to move more troops onto our lands. Several men came of military age this season; Tryphon T. Pisidikes at Side, and Menelaos A. Mysiakes and Logbasis A. Syriakes at Sidon.

Intelligence: Our Spy in upper Aigyptos, Iason P. Mysiakes, is moving southeast to support Alexandros Syriakos on his campaign to the Elephantine coast. A large Makedonian Army, composed of Hoplitai and some other as yet unknown units under the command of Aristobolous Gonnios, has moved near Sardis and will likely besiege next season. Another larger army led by two captains, one with a detatched vanguard, is moving near Nikaia, or possibly Epeirote-occupied Byzantion. Panaitolios Ankyrikos could possibly be able to intercept the vanguard approaching Nikaia next season.

Treasury: 2364 m'nai (not including this turn's rebel expenses to be recovered-to be posted after rebel's moves)

    Save: WotB-245-1-1.rar

Save is now open for movements.

    Basileus Report, Spring 245 BCE

Antiocheia has been set as the capital again, as I have left Antiocheia to meet with the rebels. 1200 pantodapoi has been moved from Tarsos to garrison the city. 1210 Iudaioi Taxeis and 2420 pantodapoi phalangitai are marching from Hierosolyma as well.

Chancellor, hire 1 unit of Hippeis Thessalonikoi/Mistophoroi Thraikoi Hippeis/Curepos mercenaries for the Basileus Basilikos Stratos. (The Thessalonikoi are preferred - but if the money doesn't allow, go with The Thraikioi, and if we don't have mnai for that the Curepos.)

Done. Added 7602 upkeep recovery for last turn. Moved Marsyas along plotted route to Alexandreia-Ariane. Ordered elements of the 1st Lydian to join their commander slightly east of Nikaia.

Chancellors report, ending Spring 245 BC

Military: Released funds for the Basileios to hire 1 unit of Thessalikoi Hippeis. Recruited pantodapoi for the garrisons at Hibis and Pselkis.

Disbanded depleted units in some eastern garrisons as follows. Pantodapoi Phalangitai in Ekbatana, Hippakontistai in Persepolis, Thanvare Payahadag Mizdaghan in Propthasia, and Pantodapoi, Thanvare Payahadag, and Nizagan-i-Eranshahr in Asaak. These men were sucking up money without doing anything important.

The Makedonioi have besieged Sardis and moved to threaten Nikaia. Strategos Panaitolios Ankyrikos is within range of the army threatening Nikaia.

Construction: No new buildings are commissioned this season. Work has been completed on the following buildings: Damaskos-Agora, Edessa-Emporion, Susa-Megaron Epitropou, Ekbatana-Mega Phourion, Side-Choma Kapelikon, and Pselkis-Phourion.

Taxes: Dispolis Megale to Low, Sardis to High

Internal Affairs: We are officially at peace with the Epeirotai and trade has been re-established. There is rioting in the Ammonion, several buildings were damaged, and the unsavory elements in the town may incite a rebellion. I would humbly suggest that Strategos Cunobelinus send some men to keep order in the town, as there is not enough population of military age to form a garrison.

Foreign Affairs: The Chremonidean League(Koinon Hellenon) has signed an alliance agreement with our Romaioi allies, perhaps this can help us improve relations with them. Our agents report that our Baktrian allies are preparing to take on the Gandharan kingdom in far-off India, let us wish them luck.

Treasury: -188 m'nai-not including rebel upkeep recovery (to be added before turn's end after rebel moves)

As per previos post a PvP battle will be fought.

Those who are not part of this battle can make your moves for this turn but it can not be ended. But just remember that armies can not enter Syria as long as this battle is fought!

Recruitment instructions updated. Chancellor, please heed those and move the akontistai in Sidon to Antiocheia.

Also make Seleukeia the capital again, since Hermokrates has wisely handed it back to the crown.

    ok. taking it now

Babylon has been captured by Hermokrates and his men; apparently the city is completely empty and does not contain any garrison

anyway, I also noticed that Hyakinthos (Hermokrates's son) came of age sometime ago.

    Battle related changes:
Disbanded all units that were destroyed in the battle.
Sarpedon Syriakos' Argyraspidai and Pezhetairoi got 1 extra experience.
Sarpedon Syriakos moved a bit east and Epikrates Tabaiou Persikou have retreated with his army near Arbela.

    Other movements:
    Moved Kleonemos towards Paraitonion.

    Important notes:
Since Panaitolos Ankyrikos is just a Strategos Epilektos he can lead only 10 units. Currently he have more units under his command than allowed(13 units). This must be resolved in this turn.

Done, Marsyas has entered Alexandreia-Ariane. I have moved East to rejoin elements of my army. Mikithion has been ejected from Alexandreia-Ariane.

Chancellors Report, ending Summer 245 BC
Military: No new spending this turn, as the treasury was empty. A small Makedonioi advance guard has moved to threaten Ipsos, and Sardis is still besieged by their main force. Zelys Lykikos, in his first engagement, defeated a large portion of the main Makedonioi force outside of Nikaia.

A lone unit of Pantodapoi Phalangitai outside of the Ammonion was intrecepted and defeated by a Ptolmaioi captain, but a slightly larger detatchment of Pezhetairoi and Pantodapoi Phalangitai drove them off into Ammonion. The defeated unit retreated to the fort in the area.

Construction: The (former?) rebel city of Arbela has completed a Melathron Epitropou. see above for spending

Internal Affairs: We are once again counted as the most advanced. The oasis of the Ammonion has rebelled against our rule and joined the Aigyptian desert rats, I will send a spy into the area this season to ascertain the composition of the garrison there.

There is a marriage proposal for the Basileios' daughter Rhogodune, the man isn't an utter fool, so I am allowing him to approach the Basileios to ask.

    Treasury: 13088

Game Mechanics: added 1200 to recover the upkeep of the remaining rebel army under Epikrates T. Persikou for last turn. This turn's (if any) will be added before the turn is ended.

    Save: WotB 245-3-1

    OOC:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
For I-K, the Babylonian Satrap ancillary needs to be removed from Hyakinthos Parthikos (in Babylon) and...

(this is probably more for TCV to answer) Is Epikrates continuing the rebellion? if not, WHY IN HELL DOES HE STILL HAVE AN ARMY? send his sorry behind to Mikra Asia if you're going to let him keep the troops...Lykikos could use some help over there.

Also, for I-K, you kan kill off Mikithion now, he's obviously not being used by whoever had him before. I kicked him out of my city.

The proposal to my daughter has been declined. He could not be trusted.

    New recruitment orders
    Kerkuroi Fleet in Antiocheia
    2x Thorakitai in Diaspolis Megale

    Movements
Captain Minnio has joined Sarpedon's forces, as has Protarchos. Akontistai in Sidon has started their march to garrison Antiocheia, and a Iudaioi Texeis from Hierosolyma is moving north as well. Caucasian Archers in Mazaka are moving south-east to replace those lost in the battle for Antiocheia.
