Chancellor's Report, Spring 261 BCE

Buildings
New inhabitants are being brought into Nikaia to replace the unwanted people, in an effort to create a loyal Satrapeia Seleukeia. It has also been decided that Pergamon needs a new armoury and thus the construction of a Syllogos kai Skeuotheke has been ordered. In Zadrakata it is hoped that a new Naiskos Mithrou will keep the people in check. They are getting unhappy with our rule. Ankyra will get a Naiskos Atargatidos.

A Diallage Enchorios has been established in Byzantion. Military settlers have been brought and settled in the new katiokiai in Asaak and Side, while the Satrapeia HemiAutonomos is finished in Hierosolyma.

Military
A klerouchoi phalangitai has been raised in Antiocheia to replaced losses in Sarpedon's Royal Army.

Internal affairs
Sarpedon has assaulted and taken Byzantion! The inhabitants have been enslaved, and the taxes set on low. A battle report will come.

Nikanor has now assumed command over the 1st Parthian Army.

Antiochos Syriakos has died of natural causes! Sarpedon Syriakos is the new Basileus!

Foreign affairs
No news to report.

Intelligence
Spies have been sent down into Aigyptos. Alexandreia is lightly garrisoned with 244 Pezhetairoi, 122 Klerouchon Agema and 80 Toxotai Kretikoi.

There is also a small Ptolemaic band waiting by the docks in Heptanomis. Reports say no more than 2-3 units led by a general, who's name we have been unable to ascertain.

Spies have also been positioned outside of Petra, showing a light Arabian garrison.

Misc.
Arrhenides has been moved towards Byzantion and will get there next season. Phormion has been moved towards Persepolis and Aratos towards Antiocheia where he will arrive next season. The 1st Parthian Army under Nikanor has been moved towards Petra.

The SPQR are now counted as the most advanced faction.

Moved Panaitolos Ankyrikos and 1st Lydian Army to Byzantion, but cannot fit inside its walls as Sarpedon's RA is stationed there.

OOC: TCV, when you take it can your RA be moved out and can you put my army in for me?

Done, gathered RA units in fort next to Hierosolyma, moved Panto. Phalangitai for Lydian Army outside of the fort next to Hierosolyma as requested, and moved depleted Prodromoi toward Seleukeia. The units left for reassignment are in the fort near the Sinai border (2 Toxotai and 2 Ioudaioi).

Done, moved 1 unit of Prodromoi (understrength) to directly west of Apameia, they are headed toward Seleukeia for retraining and reassignment by Basileus Sarpedon. See SOT.

Chancellor & Basileus Report, Summer 261 BCE

Buildings
It has been decided that Byzantion will become a Satrapeia HemiAutonomos, and slaves and builders have begun construction of a Syllogos kai Strateumatos in Hekatompylos. Sidon will get some trading docks.

Military
Raised a unit of akontistai in Pergamon and another in Sardis. In Antiocheia, a unit of Pezhetairoi was raised for the Basileus' Royal Army.

Internal affairs
No news to report.

Foreign affairs
No news to report.

Intelligence
A strong Epeirotan navy has been sighted at the shores of Side. It does not seem to carry an invading force, though.

Misc.
Moved akontistai from the Ankyra garrison and one from Pergamon towards Nikaia. Aratos has arrived in Antiocheia, and Phormion Epiphaneion Armeniakon has been moved towards Charax.

Transferred the Satrap ancillary from Sarpedon to Nikarchos and set Phanias as the heir.

We are now also considered as the most advanced civilization on earth!
