Basileus Report, Autumn 249 BCE

Sarpedon Syriakos have declined an offer of marriage to his daughter, Rhodogune. The man didn't only suffer from being a fool, but - more importantly - he also suffered from his complete inability to hide it.

Military
The Hypaspistai unit in Sarpedon's army has been moved into Aigyptos, heading towards Alexandreia for retraining. (OOC: Did you forget to do that, Chancellor?) The Arabian light infantry of the same army have been disbanded.

The garrison of Nikaia has been merged to make up for casualties.

Infrastructure
New construction orders have been issued, check my SOT. The most important of them, and the prioritized one, is the Gymnasion Mikron in Antiocheia.

Military: Raised 1 Klerouchoi Phalangitai for Ipsos Satrapal Army, Retrained 1 Hypaspistai for Basileios Sarpedon's Royal Army at Alexandreia, Raised 1 Gund-i-Palta for the Garrison at Asaak

Domestic Affairs: Our Capitol has been relocated to Antiocheia, by order of Basileios Sarpedon. Our Basileios is recognized by the Royal Cult of Seleukos, and has succeeded in bringing it to its deserved prominence. There are rumors of rioting in Hekatompylos. We are recognized as the Most Advanced nation once again, as is our proper place.

Construction: a Temple of Mithras is commissioned in Asaak and construction is begun, and I have ordered the construction of a Mega Phourion in Hekatompylos to quell the rioting there.

Taxes: Several cities have had their taxes lowered. Gabai-High, Hekatompylos-Low, Alex'-Ariane-Low, Karmania-High, Gabai-High, Ekbatana-High, Susa-Normal, Persepolis-Low

Rebellion News: The people of Babylon and Seleukeia have started to riot to show dissatisfaction at the rule of the vile usurpers.

Done, Eprikrates has returned to Selukeia to restore order, his troops garrisoning the Cities. It would appear small groups of fanatics loyal to the Basileus have incited them against us. The problem will be dealt with, and the people treated fairly. Patrokles is not there to deal with it however, and places command in his fellow regent. Patrokles himself is in Edessa with his army.

fought 2 battles, first one was heroic victory (forgot to turn on xfire, so after i hopped out of hte game and put it on to get screens for the next one) and a clear victory against the 2nd army. Clearing a path straight into Ptolemaic territory. Camped along the road at the edge of the Satrapy.

Made a speech in Alexandria, and several regiments of the Satrapal army decided to join Cunobelinus since their own Satrap and commander was unable to lead them.

Cunobelinus awaits his fate for transgressing his friend's command once he returns from his campaign and when Aratos is well enough to get out of bed (he's been gone since 4/20 and the ptolemies were getting bawlsy, marching towards my city again. I left my son incharge of the city with a small garrisson and took the 2 Phalanxes plus a phalanx out of teh satrapal army, 1 unit of cavalry, the hoplite-like elite soldiers, and a unit of theuropoi. wIll return these men once the campaign is finished. I'm sure aratos won't mind considering his extended absence. But if he does i will accept any punishment he decides to dish out. All stories and battle reports will be done tonight.

Ending Summer 248 BC

Military: Epeirote dogs have besieged our city of Byzantion!

The garrisson at Hekatompylos was retrained, consisting of 1 Gund-i-Palta and 2 Pantodapoi, 1 Shivatir-i-Pahlavanig and 1 Thanvare Payahdag were also retrained there.

Construction: The Hydragogion at Alexandreia was completed, as were the Choriton Syllogos Strateumatoi at Persepolis and Karmana. An Ochteia Haple was dug this season at Amaseia. Phourion were started at Susa and Ekbatana, as was an Emporion at Karkathiokerta. Work began on the expansion of the Governors home in Alexandreia-Ariane.

Rebellion News: the loyal citizens of the Arche in Seleukeia are still protesting against the rule of the "crescent" rebels.

Foreign Affairs: the Romaioi barbaroi have somehow convinced the rest of the world that they are more advanced than we are.
