Hi, and welcome to the forums!
Have you tried reinstalling? And also which version of Barbarian's Invasion do you have?

He means have you patched it at all? and if so which patch or if you goto the readme file and see version number, what number is given.

You also can look in the top right hand corner of the screen of the options menu to locate your version number. If it's v1.4, then you could try downloading the 1.6 patch from here. I do somehow doubt this will resolve the issue though - un-patched versions of the game are not supposed to crash as frequently as, I presume, you are describing.
Might I ask if you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. A file may have been corrupted in the disk - computer transfer process which could be fixed through repairing it in this way.
Good luck![]()

Your saves can be found in one of four places:
If you have full administrative rights (if you are an administrator on XP or run R:TW with admin rights on Vista, that is without user account control or with the relevant compatibility checkbox checked) you can find your save games in:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW or:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW
If you are running R:TW without admin rights on Windows Vista (that is with user account control or without the relevant compatibility checkbox checked):
"C:\Users\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Users\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW or:
"C:\Users\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Users\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW.
If you are running R:TW without admin rights on Windows XP:
"C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\saves"
for standard non-BI R:TW saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW or:
"C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with R:TW Gold or:
"C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name here]\My Computer\Appdata\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\saves"
for BI saves with standard (non-Gold) R:TW.
To access any of these locations, just drop the underlined text in your location bar in either Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer, fill in any areas between "[]"s with the relevant info, and then press go.
Once you are in one of these areas, select all the saves and copy and paste them into your "My Documents" folder. You then can remove R:TW at will.
After you've re-installed the game, load it up, start a campaign as any faction and then exit. This creates the relevant folders for you to re-place your saves into.
After you have done that, enter the relevant folder as documented above, and cut and paste all the saves in your "My Documents" area back into that folder.
Good luck![]()
