    Default Editting the sound files

    Hello,

    I am adding some new units to my game, in particular new hoplites (I have ALEX.exe). I was curious how I could make these new hoplites speak Greek like the original Classical Hoplites. What files do I need to edit and what operations do I perform in these?
    It would be a violation of my code as a gentleman to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person.-Veeblefester

    umm... just assing them one of the existent voices...

    go to the EDU look for hoplitai (clasical hoplites) , copy the block text and paste it, do whatever changes you might wan't to do

    any doubts?

    I could help you step by step on how to add more units if you wish

    I am quite experienced with adding units and familiar with the major files (DMB, EDB, EDU, etc.). I have not editted the sound files for several years though which is why I asked. From what you have said it sounds quite simple so I will give it a go and see if it works--thanks.

    I'll be looking forward to that =] Alex.exe has so many unit slots that many of the units that were left out could use...

    ...and can ya fix some of the sound bugs while ur at it? It's kinda strange to hear thoakitai hoplitai calling themselves epilikoi hoplitai....

    iirc, alex only increased the model slots, not the unit slots. But EBI only used 460 unit slots so there are 40 left-over.

    Perhaps I phrased my question wrong...

    I would like my new hoplites to shout "Hoplitai!" when I select them. I am pretty sure this takes some meddling in the sound files but I don't know which ones to edit.

    I too have been suffering from this I'd like my own Greek Myrmidons to say "infantry" or something....
