"Basileus Sarpedon Syriakos, I am grateful to be appointed Satrap of Aigyptos. Your highness is correct, you can use both Alexandreia and Memphis to train the rest of your new army and also retrain when need. It may seem surprising but I have not give much thinking into the structure of my satrapal army. I will give my decision very soon.

I have nothing to add to the campaign to retake Persia, it seems completely thought through. May the gods be with you, Satrap Phanias and Strategos Patrokles.

I will do my best to keep Ptolemy under control, while you deal with the pahlavans."

Congratulations old friend! The blooded celt smiles and shakes the hand of his army buddy. Not one deserves it more than you.

Kleonemos Syriakos walks into the Council Hall. Taking one of the seats near the doors he starts reading documents in front of him. The Old Magistrate, Aristenos, walks to him, nods and then takes a seat next to Kleonemos.

    A messenger enters the council...

I bring word from my master Alexandros Syriakos in Memphis. First, he would like to request from whoever has the authority permission to construct a watch tower south of Memphis near the border. Not only will this allow Lower Egypt to be defended much more effectively, but also once our rule extends further along the Nile the tower will aid in the suppression of potential brigands.
Also, although my master is aware of the crisis in the east, he would caution that we do not forget the other parts of our empire. He has received reports of small Ptolemaic forces advancing in the western desert and along the coast of the Red sea. These current threats can be easily overcome, but as it is the entire 1st Syrian cannot leave Memphis for any length of time. Alexandros is sure that Satrap Aratos has plans for a permanent garrison for the city, but nevertheless he would like to impress the point upon the Chancellor and other esteemed members of the council.

The messenger bows and leaves the floor, waiting for a reply.

"I believe it is the Chancellor who can answer your watchtower request. He handles the finances, and will decide if it's fiscally feasible.

As for your concern of the safety of Aigyptos, there is no immediate threat. You are there to keep it safe, and I trust you could do that. That's why I chose you to command the 1st Syrian, remember? Even should you fail, my army is close by, and can turn around should the need arise. Before I get out of range, I'm sure both the Babylonian armies will have been fully raised, and Aratos' satrapal army can be completed. Then you should have absolutely no problem keeping the Ptolemaioi at bay."

A messenger walks in the council.

"The Satrap of Aigyptos, Aratos Syriakes, wants to make it public that he his looking for a Satrap Aid. The choosen Strategos should travel as quick as possible to Alexandreia, he will be given command of the satrapal army and his immediate objective will be the defense of Alexandreia. Any candidates should write to him."

The man bowed and left the council.
