Thread: This AI is weak

    Default This AI is weak

I'm beside myself. I had several great armies to fight the Mongols. I can't stand that you can only enter the fray with one army. If you turn your army over to the AI it's as good as gone. Even if I wanted to - It was a night attack, so the AI said that my other 2 armies couldn't fight night battles??? In every battle I’m fighting three armies, and get defeated.
    I don't like this.

Most people around here lately have been complaining that the AI is too easy. You should feel lucky that you're getting your butt handed to you every now and then.

Seriously, that is just something that was designed as a game rule by CA (I'm NOT saying that I condone it), that in night battles the reinforcements don't show. You've just learnt a new tactic: don't fight massive battles at night time. War and fighting battles is all about tactics.

In regards to fighting the Mongols - send in your troops, sit back and enjoy the death toll

You can bring in reinforcements to night attacks only if the commanding general of the reinforcements can fight night battles. All Mongol generals seem to have the night battles trait, but any captains will be excluded from the battle. Fighting Mongols certainly takes some different tactics than other armies. Good luck!

Well, I would count myself lucky that I actually found something even challenging in M2TW.

As for a strategy, I would just hole up around them, maybe in forts or something and then charge in when their armies get seperated so you only have to fight against one army at a time.

Another option: have your reinforcement armies controlled by the AI have trash troops. Essentially, you want them to be engaged first and since they're expendable, just charge into the other armies while they're busy killing off your cannon fodder
