Corrupt savegame?

Here is the problem, I recently purchased a new version RTW (RTW - Anthology) and today I tried to run it for the first time and load my old savegames from the last version I played with.

My old savegames won't load. I'm pretty sure both versions I played with were patched to 1,5 with BI installed so 1,3 (if I understand correctly), so that shouldn't be the problem. It just loads for a while not showing the picture of the faction I was playing and just goes back to the main screen.

Any thought on what I can do that might help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes when i uninstall and then reinstall my rtw game my save games dont lode either. it sometimes happens. you just have to start from scratch.
also, with it being a different disk/game the codes for each game will be different. that might have something to do with it.
