You will need to install Rome Total War in a folder other than program files. Then install EB to that same folder following the details I've mentioned above.

So i need to reinstall rtw 1.5 under a file other than program files, then give eb installation another try?
Yes, that's what he said.
(And 'program files' is a folder, not a file)
ok, thanks for all your help guys, vista is hard to work with lol. can i make a "tw" folder on the desktop, and when reinstalling rtw 1.5, can i have install to that folder? if not, what folder is good to use other than program files?
I don't know a thing about vista, but the desktop is probably still the worst place for a huge mass of data like EB. Put it somewhere else.
For example, create a folder C:/Rome-Total War (or better yet D:/Rome-Total War if you have a drive D). C:/crazystuff or C:/idontknow will work, too.
Damn, becuase i just installed it and everything else into a "tw" folder i put on the desktop. Now i have vista, and after installing it i was able to start it up. Havent played for very long yet, but could putting it on the desktop cause late game ctds?
I don't know how Vista handles files on the desktop, so my answer is "maybe". C:\idontknow sounds like a good suggestion, but I'd probably use c:\EB instead.
Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.
