Did you try to prevent Syracuse from revolting? Putting a unit in there can help with the happiness, but is not sufficient in itself to prevent a revolt. Make sure happiness is 75% or more.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image. - Stephen Hawking
Happiness was, I believe, 15% or 20% with seven units there. The only thing I can think of would be to use the move cheat to move the big army I have into the city. Otherwise the most I can get there is two, maybe three units, depending on how many mercenary cavalry there are (even if infantry can make it, I'm not sure I can afford enough units to bring happiness that high. I'll try it though, and post the results).
Sorry, to double post, but just out of curiosity,
a) would this CTD affect my other saves?
b) if I can't fix this, is there any way that I can eliminate the CTD without having to do a re-install?
See the frequent issues for how to avoid rebellions through cheats.
1) No.
2) If you can't fix this, that means you can't eliminate the CTD. That's sort of what fix means. A reinstall will not help unless you've made any changes that cause it.

Thanks, that means that I can play my other saves while I try to fix this.
ANd sorry, I guess the second question wasn't very clear. The thing is that I remember that in other versions a CTD in one game would affect ALL of the saves and the game itself, eventually causing it to crash without even starting a game. I meant that if something like that could happen because of the CTD.
Thanks. I'll try the cheats to avoid rebellion tonight and post the results.

Thanks, bovi.
Managed to fix it. The problem was Syrakousai rebelling, like you said. Though my units weren't near enough, so I had to just use add money and the build cheat to get happiness buildings there. I guess I'll compensate by not building anything for a couple dozen turns (lol :p )
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.
