    Default how to make even bigger units?

    Hi. I want very big battles. How to edit the unit size? To make more units thanin the options menu. If it is possible.

    RTW has a hardcoded max of 240 (plus officers) per unit...

    Really? I thought it was 300 if you mod the game instead of simply changing the options to Huge Unit Size, unless I am mistaken.

    So you could actually change all unit sizes to 240?

    Yes you could. However that would give certain units, particular heavy cavalry and elite infantry a distinct advantage and would seriously unbalance the game.

    240 elephants in one unit...or 240...um......flaming pigs . Your right though Foot i would be careful what you change Ludwag, the battles would be turned upside down if your not. If you really want battles to be bigger but in a similar balance, maybe just spruce up your infantry numbers by maybe a quarter or half of their original size...maybe miss out units like heavy cavalry, elite infantry and so on.

    but change overall? So there isnt anything else i can do, but from the options menu. I played SPQR-mod and i think it was much bigger battles. Maybe the units vas bigger?

    Yes, you can change the unit numbers, thats what Foot just said. But you can't raise any unit number higher than 240 plus officers. I'm not sure what file you change it in though, wait for Foot to return

    export_descr_unit.txt in \EB\Data\

    As you expressed a desire to keep your current campaign alive, I thought I should mention that if you do change the unit numbers, you will have to start a new campaign.

    Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

    I'm not sure, I think I changed units quite a few times mid-campagin (but those were mainly ownerships and attack/defence). I think that current units will need retraining, as they will not become bigger automaticaly.

    Yeah, one time I made Praetorian calv. and soldiers, both 240 units just to steamroll armies on vh/vh. lol, it was crazy. then I changed them back mid campaign. really, anything in EDU can be changed during a campaign.

    yes changing things in the EDU are savegame compatible. However changing the overall unit size in the option menu is not. I think bovi got confused between the two.

    I was actually basing my statement on the experience of one who asked about it. I told him to try and he said it made his game crash, so if it's harmless he must have done something wrong and I apologize.

    Yes, it's harmless: you can raise the size of a unit in an ongoing campaign and also lower it, even though you have units of that type with more men than allowed in the game.
