Thread: Regionals

    Default Regionals

There are some regionals that are only available to some factions. How do you determine this? Do you use historical evidence for this? please reply

I guess they do, after all it's EB. But I think you have to be more specific in order to get a reply on your question.

Sorry Maion, my english is a little bit rusty.

Ok, my question is this. How do you (EB team) choose which regionals are available to each faction?

    example:

Carthage can recruit all most every "Iberian" unit (I know that this was historical support)
KH can only recruit some levies from "Iberia" (they add some colonies there right?)

Do you base regional recruitment only in historical facts?

I hope I was more specific

    Yours truly, Raiuga

Specific would be for a specific unit. For instance, Gaesatae are recruitable by Carthage as they used them at some point (don't ask me when or where, I just recall this from other discussions on the forum).

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

The Gaesatae aren't accessible for everyone because quite frankly, they wouldn't have fought for just anyone. For example, they would never have fought for Rome. However, they did fight for Hannibal (I recall reading that they were his favourite bodyguards somewhere, and I think it was in EB, though my memory might not be the most trustworthy of sources), which is why they are available for Carthage.

(I'm just adding to your answer here. )

Generally we give factions accsess to regionals they historicaly used, or to those, who in our opinion will serve them (for ex. because they served in armies of other faction with simmilar culture). In same cases though engine limits forced us to close access to some regionals for some factions, as they use more important unit that has the same model (this is engine limitation as we can have around 500 units, but only 250 or so models)

Is this why Carthage can't recruit Dunaminca (sp?) (Celtiberian Heavy Infantry)?
