Thumbs up Upgrading to 1.1 ...need advice

Due to popular demand I will most likely be upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1. Howerver I would like some advice.

I just recently added the "no client rulers" script to 1.0 to speed up the map scrolling speed and the turn speed. I was highly impressed, it cut my turn wait in half. It made the game worth it.

If I upgrade to 1.1 I would also like to have that type of speed. Is there a "no client ruler" mod for 1.1? I don't mind missing out on extra EB stuff if I have to.

Could anyone point me in the direction of some of my options? I really liked the "no client ruler" script; easy to install and really effective.

There is script that keeps client rulers and speeds up turns. Check Bovi's fixes tread for that :

Some report that it causes clones. There is a 1.1 script without them entirely though if you look in the unofficial mods subforum. Or see the frequent issues, it's linked there.

You can manually do the same thing for 1.1. Took me about two minutes to delete the client ruler script; between line 175 and line 175000-ish, between the two commented titles. All I did was put the cursor at the top of the section, scroll down the sidebar with my mouse til I got to the bottom of the section, held down shift, clicked and pressed backspace. All gone.

Will getting rid of all the client ruler script have the same effect as the "no client ruler" mod in 1.0. I went from 1 minute 30 sec turns down to 45 seconds; wait times cut in half.

Thanks. So I just delete the entire "client rulers" section from the script? I didn't do it manually the first time, I replaced it with the downloaded one. How exactly do I do that? I am looking at the original 1.0 script and I can't tell what is what.

OK on closer look I think I see it. Just delete that large chunk between "puppets" and "reforms"?

I got rid of the client rulers part of the script. Apart from any unknowns; what are the known effects of doing so? I am curious of how this will affect the game.

You... Get rid of the client rulers. That's all. Well, you'll have some problems controlling gov IV settlements due to the interloper mechanic as a side effect. There are no unknown effects. If they were known, they would be known.

I highly suggest you to try the "Client ruler script optimization" from the 1.1 fixes (see bovi's sig).

There are some very rare issues reported of ghost generals or clones being spawned, but many (me included) run the script for a long time without any problems occuring, and I played about 10-15 campaigns, most of them at least about 100 years (->400+ turns).

The loading speed between the turns is reduced by factor 2 minimum, without the script I easily could read some pages of a cartoon or finish a page in the newspaper or the like, now there's non-stop action And I never would want to miss my "Amicvs Popvli Romani" sitting in the Sahara or in the thickest forests of Germania
