Default Mori Motonari sure has had his wheetabix

In my current campaign we just celebrated his 100th birthday. We had a family celebration, with an especially large cake in order to fit all the candles. It was great. With a mighty puff he extinguished all of the candles, and all marvelled at the fact that he did not look a day above 80.

After a few songs and charades Takamoto, eldest son now 74, summoned up the courage to say what had been on his mind for the last 20 years: "Not that I'm getting impatient or anything, but have you thought about retirement? You're not a spring chicken anymore, you know."

Takamoto was fortunate that the mighty daimyo was in a good mood that day. He was not offended, in fact he giggled uproariously at his son's impudent words. "My dear son number one," he said; "I am as fit as a shamisen. It is perhaps time you knew the secret of my longevity: as long as Karl08-kami does not delete my savegame, I shall go on to conquer all of Nippon! And Korea, too, if ever such an expansion comes (as if!). You know I normally do not like bugs, but this one I have grown quite fond of."

Takamoto shifted uneasily in his seiza position. Could this be true? If it was, could he ever hope of him succeeding his father as daimyo? He glanced briefly toward the geisha he had engaged for his father's birthday entertainment...

So... is it a bug or not? I now have five sons (or he does), all of age, and I think it is time for some fresh blood to take over the reins. Takamoto is growing grumpier by the season.

Oh, now that I am already making a new thread: I kind of miss the old naginata samurai battlefield icon, pre-MI. Does anyone know how to change it back?

You can have a stroke of brilliant luck, but.. I think it's a bug.
The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish, and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten. The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits. When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten. The purpose of words is to convey ideas. When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words? He is the one I would like to talk to.

Ploblably - that's what I figured. I'm monitoring his condition and will post here of any change. I assume there is no coding in STW for sons dying of old age?

I have had exactly the same thing happen before with Mori Motonari aswel. In my case though all my heirs were dead and my daimyo ended up well past the 100 mark when I finally won the game.

[offtopic]Hmmm, since this guy seems to have all the time in the world it might be possible to train him to rank8. I still want to achieve that sometime, just for fun.(and for +4 honour, lol) Only restriction then is that there's only 60 regions so not that many battles to be won. Have to hit-and-run... would be a lame campaign I guess. :P[/offtopic]

    ontopic: lol!

I've been told the battle counter stops at 127.
