My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

"No one said it was gonna be easy! If it was, everyone would do it..that's who you know who really wants it."
All us men suffer in equal parts, it's our lot in life, and no man goes without a broken heart or a lost love. Like holding your dog as he takes his last breath and dies in your arms, it's a rite of passage. Unavoidable. And honestly, I can't imagine life without that depth of feeling.-Bierut

Unfortunately I can't be a part of the fun. My goatee is at optimal length.![]()
I haven't shaved since 1982...

Scratch my previous post, i'm taking part anyway. I'm going to see how much i can get away with it, and hopefully last till Christmas, at which point me and a friend are going to Melbourne for new year. With the beard, i'll look old enough to not need an ID at pubs. Woohoo.

I tried to let it grow one week this very summer; but it needless to say it made me feel too old; not to mention that it's too much hassle to trim it, might as well just shave it all off.![]()

Oh, you guys are talking about shaving your face. Heh, see, I thought ... well, never mind what I thought. Good show!

You just reminded me of a horrible event a few years back where I attempted to shave something other than my face with an open end razor... At first it was smooth sailing, but soon the tide turned.
I have no comment on the story as a whole other than the fact that Goldbond Medicated Powder is a life saver...

I didn't shave for about 2 months during the Stanley Cup playoffs as I grew a playoff beard in support of my Detroit Redwings who (of course) went on to raise the cup. Wife hated it, but it worked!

"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

No wonder she hated it, that beard makes you look a lot older...
Guess I'll join ya.

I might join you on this one... it shouldn't matter too much for me anyway as i haven't shaved for 3 weeks and after that it grows incredibly slowly, saying that it usually starts to do my head in when i am able to chew my own facial hair, not that i try...
In remembrance of our great Admin Tosa Inu, A tireless worker with the patience of a saint. As long as I live I will not forget you. Thank you for everything!
I have a feeling his wife's objections may have been as much tactile as they were aesthetic. I know from personal experience that some women don't like kissing men with beards, goatees, and/or mustaches.![]()
I certainly have no objections if any wish to do so.Still, we must remember that it is through following the True Path that our fellow members of the Order shall gain salvation.

A week you say. Man, I double-dog dare you to take a xmas break trip to Mexico, and try to get back into the country without getting pulled aside for further "interviews".
Gregoshi, that thing must be down to your kneecaps by now. (j/k ol' buddy; I'm with you. I keep my chin 'clean' in deference to the Missus's wishes. But I've had a moustache since 1969, and occasionally grow the beard for solidarity reasons - as Mount Suribachi. Maybe, once the Detroit Lions' "Bobby Lane Curse" lifts next week, and my team starts winning, Ms. K. will not object to another whisker wonderlandOriginally Posted by Gregoshi

I'm just a sensitive guy, but that doesn't mean you have to broadcast it to the whole world, you wicked minx!
And let me tell you, when I don't shave it gets ugly ...
