Via the ctrl + t key. But I recommend assigning a key for each speed, like numpad 1, 2 and 3, because the command often, due to lag, requires a lot of tapping when on the highest level of speed and one wants to decrease it and ctrl + t only cycles through the levels so you are most certain at getting the speed you want if you assign them on individual keys.

Or go into preferences in EB folder and change the Minimal UI or something option. That should change it to old style battle screen

Yeah I assigned 1,2,3 on the number pad to game speed, go through the Options menu when you start EB I think it's under game controls.

I tried to assign keys to speed. It would not let me for some reason. I tried letters, #'s. It just wouldn't let me. It's not my keyboard either.

When you load up EB at the main menu screen select "Options", then select "Controls", when there select "Battle Menu" about half way down are the keys allocated to speed settings. One at a time double left click to remove the key, it'll be highlighted, currently being used, then hit the key you want to be used, as I said I use 1,2,3 seems logical and I don't think they are allocated to any other controls. Should look "Normal speed.....< NUM 1>" etc. Then save the set up go back and start your game, works with saved games so no problems.

I apologise if you've done all this already as it worked for me!
