Will my old saved games work with patch?

Ok...I've read all the ranting disappointment on this forum, but I would like one simple question answered before I d/l this monster and install it -

Will my old campaign saved games run properly with the new patch? I'm so far into my English campaign and I don't feel like starting over just yet.

Anyway, there are many complain about missing units and/or building when playing a pre-patch savegame after installing the patch.

What I am gonna do is finish my current campaign (Almohad, 1391 and I own about 90% of the land) if I don't really want to abandon it. If I think that my current saves are worthless, I just start fresh with the patch.
