    Default Generals joining the family

How can I adopt a general (client ruler) into my family? I didnt knew that this was possible until one of my generals won a battle, then after that apeared the "men of the hour" and I got the chance to adopt him. (Was the SAME general, not a new one) Now he is in the family tree. (Im playing with the Averni)
    There is any other ways?

    Sorry for my english

Adopting client rulers into the family appears to spawn clones, which cause CTDs. You should decline adopting him.

What about recruited mercenary generals? Does adopting them cause CTDs too?

Possibly. It appears that a clone comes into play when a unit with a non-standard bodyguard becomes a family member. Then he has one unit with the old bodyguard and another with the standard one, which the game chokes on.

So far I didnt have a CTD, so if I let my family member/general die in battle the problem will disapear or the damage is already done?

If you can enter a battle at all with him, there is no problem.
