Rebels, Freedom and a new standing army.
Loyalists, they stood by me, we shall continue to stand.
At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
Back to the topic at hand:
CA has said that the Jacobites can appear -- although like the U.S. declaring independence from Britain, it will apparently only happen under the right conditions. There's no word yet on whether or not you can switch to playing as them, but I would hope that it would be possible via modding if nothing else.![]()

"MTW is not a game, it's a way of life." -- drone
A wise man does not simply back either side based on a mere name. If the rebels are huge, powerful and include most of your former empire you may want to back them. Especially if they are made up of most of the decent generals. It will be interesting to see how this facet of the game works. Civil wars were a great feature of MTW that has been missing from later titles.

“The majestic equality of the laws prohibits the rich and the poor alike from sleeping under bridges, begging in the streets and stealing bread.” - Anatole France
"The law is like a spider’s web. The small are caught, and the great tear it up.” - Anacharsis
What is going to be more exciting is other factions with civil wars.
Agreed. Civil wars should really help with the roleplaying aspect of the game. Combined with national rebellions, this will add a lot that was missing in M2TW. Although Kingdoms improved it a lot, almost all the time if you captured a province you knew you would have it in the end game.
Things will be more interesting in ETW...
