I'd save game, pick one and then later go back and play the other side.
I'm also considering inciteing a rebellion just before the last territory is taken. Then I can slug it out one huge empire vs another.
Rebels, Freedom and a new standing army.
Loyalists, they stood by me, we shall continue to stand.
