    Hi there,

    I just started a Mod for M2:TW, It's called "Black Sea: Total War"

    But now a few facts so you can come to know what the mod shall include.
    Only gos knows if this mod will be for kingdoms or the maingame.

    the mod aims good historical accuracy and great gameplay, in battles and also on the campaign map.

    The mod starts in 1186, one year before the Crusade of Richard the Lionheart, who will spawn at Acre during the Campaign.

    Catholic:
    Kingdom of Denmark
    HRE
    Republic of Venice
    Papal States
    Knigdom of Sicily
    Teutonic Order
    Kingdom of Poland
    Kingdom of Hungary
    Grand Duchy of Serbia
    Wallachia (Bulgaria?)

    Orthodox:
    Grand Duchy of Novgorod
    Grand Duchy of Moscow
    Grand Duchy of Ryazan
    Grand Duchy of Kiev
    Kingdom of Georgia
    Basileia ton Romaion (Byzantine Empire)
    Kingdom of Cilician Armenia

    Islamic:
    Seljuks
    Saracens(=Egypt)
    West-Iran (Abbasids, Ilkhanids, Khwarezm Shah?)
    Sultanate of Rum
    Mongols

    Pagan:
    Grand Duchy of Lithuania

    Map:
    so, and that the Factions have enough place to kill themselves, they need a map.
    and here it is(I'm working on the Map at the moment, i'll post screens in a few weeks):
    The Map ends in the West at Rome, in the South at Acre, in the West at the Aral Sea and in the North with Helsinki.

    hi,
    the map progress goes pretty good, i just need to place regions, factions, armies, agents and ressources.

    but we have no modeler/ skinner /scripter/ skilled coder.
    i can do a little bit of coding, but i don't knopw how to script or model.
    alpaca's script tutorial was just a small help...

    ok, the mod is alive again (i found a few new teammembers that want to do more than beta-testing), i continued working on the map today.

    I'll post a few screens during the next few days

    the first preview will definetly be on the map, as this part of the mod developes the best way. i'll also release an alpha with the map with the preview. i'll also work continuously on the map and react on your wishes (as my heights aren't that perfect^^)

    now, after a long time and after my brother destroyed the modfolder completly, the great da has come!
    NOTE: THIS IS ONLY AN ALPHA VERSION; SO MANY THINGS WILL GET BETTER IN FURTHER RELEASES!

    The Alpha Candidate a0.1 is going to be released.
    I know (or at least I hope) you don't want to wait any longer, so here's just a short featurelist and then the Downloadlink at the bottom.


    The Map:
    -This is a completly new map with many many new provinces
    -there aren't any new factions, I just changed the color to give an at least a bit better atmosphere during playing this.
    - I didn't place any rebel army, nor are there realistic buildings in the most settlements, as I wanted to learn a bit of scripting to give you a better experience, and I was also writing exams the last days.



    one big map feature is, that you can discover the rich Syberia (the area will be covered like america in the vanilla). but be careful! there will be (in further versions:whistling) a powerful tribe and they won't allow you to gain their lands, so you need to conquer them.
    Why I didn't take the Aztecs? that would be more unrealistic than letting Milan be Kiev.

    Other features:
    -A new script: in this script, you'll gain money when you conquer a certain region as a certain faction. (e.g. "The Seljuks capture Constantinople"), there's also a spawning faction: the Crusaders (aka. the Normans). They're at war with egypt and allied with Armenia, as this was also a Christian faction.
    - Stoned forts (in the tutorial I used for this, the game didn't show stoned battlemap models with eastern forts, I couldn't test this, as the AI never attacked one of my forts)
    -Boiling Oil
    -Kingdoms-models for castles and fortresses.

    Planned in the next version:
    Script:
    more Invasions, like the Mongol Invasion and a few more events
    Campaign:
    at least 2 playable new factions (and I mean playable, not completels finished)
    Map:
    More regions, especially in the area where the new factions stay.

    Installation:
    This mod is for kingdoms!

    This is an Installer version. If needed, I'll also give you a .rar version.
    There you only need to download and follow the instructions. This will create an uninstall.exe and a desctopshortcut.
    the .exe is 108MB huge and the modfolder on your PC will have ~363MB

    THE INSTALLER DOESN'T CREATE AN BlackSeaTWa0.1 subfolder under mods, you need to put the data, the .cfg and the.bat there or it won't work!
    thankd for telling me this , I just got over it, as I created the final installer tomorrow, but then i had to go play icehockey (at least 5 hours today^^)

    hey there, your mod looks good so far. very interesting area and period you chose.
    i like the idea of wars between the russian duchies.

    how far into it are you now i was wondering?

    do you still need any help? cause id liked to if i can.
    i dont think my modding is up to a great standard, average just maybe.
    but my history is a+ so might be able to help there i was thinking with unit names and descriptions, factions and so on...
