What the hell? Help!

Finally decided to give EB a go and man alive was I impressed...sort of. Great concept, awesome execution, but there's something I don't get and a bug that's currently preventing me from playing...

1) Why the hell is the game so slow? I can run vanilla RTW and RTR on full stats with no/minimal slowdown, but my new comp is chugging away on EB.


2) The name suddenly escapes but I was laying siege to the town between Segesta and Patavium, the defenders sallied out, and when I attempted to load the battle, I got a big fat CTD. "Probably just a fluke" I thought and fired up the game again...hey presto my save games are missing!!!

1) We've pushed the game to its limit, far more than RTW or any of its mods. This does cause a certain amount of slowness. Between turns this slowness is caused by the script. To speed up turns you can try turning of campaign map shadows.

2) I cannot help you with the slaves but please make sure you download all the fixes for 1.1 in the bugs forum here.
