I have been playing around with EB continually from version 1.0 to the newer version 1.1 and wouldn't go back to the original Rome: Total War after tasting the banquet this offers in comparison. However, I am getting increasingly frustrated with the CTD's I seem to be experiencing after having advanced a campaign for a few weeks or months and am now unable to complete any.
I am currently running Europa Barbarorum v1.1 with Barbarian Invasion v1.6 and all the permanent fixes from v1.1 as well as the forced diplomacy mod but prior to this I was running EB1.1 with RTW 1.5and had the same crashes with the same files.
I'll start with the three that CTD as soon as the loading bar has completed, I can't tell you what year I have managed to get to in these as the save game is unloadable. One thing I can add is that these three games ran fine until I logged for the day and then tried to reload the save at a later date.

The next two save games load up but crash on the computer players turn whether or not I have the script running and whether or not I have any buildings or recruitment queued.
My most recent campaign as
Pontos has reached only as far as 240bc and appears to crash on the Ptolemaioi turn.

And the last save game that has currently reached 237bc as
Ptolemaioi, appears to crash during the Casse or Sweboz turn (but I could be wrong about that).

If anyone can help with these that would be fantastic otherwise I might be forced to retire Europa Barbarorum until version II for Kingdoms is released which would make me sad indeed as I would miss my EB fix.
For the first three there is nothing we can do. You can minimize the impact of corrupt savegames by keeping saves from every couple of turns (3-16, depending on your willingness to replay turns).
As for the crashes during AI turn, there are a number of suggestions in the frequent issues, try those.

Make sure to keep lots of saves. I personally go with a save for every turn and then only keep one for every odd year (~8 turns). Occasionally I still get an unbeatable CTD and that's always sad, but it happens much less now. Always get the fixes, too, they cut my battle crashing by probably a third, maybe more.
