Default The Rock-and-Roll Reverend Returns with another band

I didn't feel like rooting around for my old band suggestion threads, so I'm just making a new one, and I don't do this often enough for a special thread.

    Firebird
(Live - you can find quite a few of theit other songs live via the links)

For quite some time, I had the same problem with these guys as I've always had with Led Zeppelin: listening to their music, I kept thinking I should love it, but I could never quite dig it.

Then one night, whilst dancing with the Green Lady, something clicked and ever since I've been addicted. They draw on Zeppelin-era metal-rock heavily, but they also show some 60's influences as well, especially on #3; just take a look at their list of influences and you'll see Grand Funk, Cream, and Canned Heat, to name a few. Anyhow, the result is heavy-duty blues-based 70's British rock at its finest.

Also, watch the youtube links; several of them lead to an unrelated Rockabilly band also called Firebird. They sound good too, but they are definitely not the same group.

Have you ever heard of Drive By Truckers? They have a but more of a country twang but there music seems to fit right in with this stuff.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
