Default High School about to finish

I think you guys use High School like I'm intend to use in this thread.

HS is about to finish. ITs going to finish in December, and when I finish it, I'm going to move to another city. Yes, Caius will be leaving the org, but not for forever. When things start to get good here, I am partially leaving the org.

I will need to learn to study. And things will start to change. Oh well, it have to happen.

Well, my senior year in HS will be over May 2009. I can't wait till January b/c I'll have all of my college applications sent by then and I can actually relax for like the first time in 3 years.....Of course....once I go to college, its going to be exponentially worse....sigh

Quick question: How many here hate college essays. I'm going to have to write like 6 of them and I'm not even remotely done with my first 2 for early action

Just enjoy your sophmore year while you can. Because I'm in a really ultra academically competetive HS, my Junior year was hell and my Fall of Senior year is just going to get worse...

Well, the normal distribution of SAT scores seem to have a really low mean if you live in any half-decent school system or are a half-decent student. I remember getting something like 90th percentile on the old SATs when I took it in middle school for a summer camp thing and that was with no preparation at all...

In Maryland, we have some really high SAT scores. Our National Merit PSAT cutoff was like 220 this past year which is the 2nd highest in the country after Mass I think. I blame all of those rich people from Washington DC with nothing to do except to pay really high property taxes and getting imba high schools.....

I find that with the right people around, you learn to study by osmosis. Entering college this August, my study habits were nonexistent. I always blew/put things off, etc. Once I came in though, my floor (which is full of partiers) knew when it was time to buckle down and get things done, and I followed their example. Problem solved.

Speaking from experience, it's going to get very easier for you in a few months, and I did way less than you. I didn't even take the whole process seriously and disdained the whole thing but still stressed about it way too much. Once those applications are all out, just enjoy the rest of your senior year. College is fun, because you have more time to do whatever, whether it be work or play.

I'll tag along with what GH says. Studying becomes much more important. Hell I did a thread-bare amount of study at school, since the teachers were always on your case, pushing you to do work. At Uni/College no one forces you to do work, so if you want to do well it's all up to you.

Also Uni, especially if you only work part-time or not at all equals a lot of free time. Study time, party time, sport time, or whatever time.

By God do I hate essays. I did plenty at school (a couple a week for two or three subjects). But at Uni the length goes up, and the topics more dull. And on that note better get back to my 6000+ word Marketing assignment. :cries in the corner:

    Yes.

And that is the biggest understatement I've ever made.

Yes. It's good if you make it good. You'll have more time, more opportunities, more treats , more freedom. But, there's more work, etc.

It's not that bad, enjoy it. About half my year group did it, (a guy at my school even got 45 and eight others got 44s ). And if you get 35+ (which is only 80% if you really think about it) your pretty much guaranteed to get into most things. They all whined about how hard it was, but in all seriousness the syllabuses for respective subjects was exactly the same, (the maths I did was actually harder than what they did ). The only annoying thing would be ToK and the extended essay. But you'll get through it. Oh and good luck.

Don't worry about it first yeat at Uni for me proved much easier than my last couple at school. Although my final school year was easy, spent most of my time playing PES. Don't have that at Uni.

    So I am doing.
But I'm doing a lot of things, things that I like and always wanted to do:
I have the main character in an adaptation of "Bang Bang, you are dead"
Wrote an essay about Nuclear technology and its going to get a 'bit' of attention, the article might be published and/or its going to be used for some ambientalist foundation (don't worry, not Greenpeace)
We are going to do a documental...

There are a lot of things to do, and 2 months remaining! I am supposed to be doing some Uni work now, I will tell you more later.

My highschool is one of the best public schools in the nation and is very competetive. And I'm in all AP classes, which doesn't make it any easier...

but for the most part I relaxed my entire highschool carear. it wasn't tremendously easy, i just took mediocre grades

I've already finished applications and sent them in:

    University of Texas
    Penn State
    University of Washington
    Tulane
    DePaul

now only thing i have to worry about is paying for this....

I just got my first acceptance letter back. UW-Stevens Point accepted me. Now I've got to polish my personal statement/admissions essay(the name varies from college to college) before I send out applications to UW-La Crosse and UW-Madison. La Crosse will get back to me within a month. I'll have to wait for a couple of months before Madison will get back to me. Stupid Madison and its crazy high standards. :shakes fist:

    Teehee.

I'm in my first year at UNI. As of now, I'm still a horrible procrastinator; just today I had an analysis essay due. We had roughly 2 or so weeks to work on it. I completed the whole thing from 6 in the morning to 8 in the morning; class started at 9. I do believe I did quality work, however. I've got a lot of practice.

    Good luck, Woad.

Yeah, right now I'm scrambling to get my essays/supplements done in time for Yale early action...I really hate those college essays, don't know how many drafts I've gone through so far...
