Senior membership and my posting style wouldn't be that a good combination, better to keep it respectable so it actually means something. Sitting comfortably with the rejected, DevDave Tribes etc and they are the most fun characters anyway

Indeed, we had a much longer list than normal, (usually SM's are promoted in batches of around 5-10 people) -- and that was after we'd actually cut *back* on the number of nominees, believe it or not.

As GeneralHankerchief said, senior members receive official recognition, free beer at KukriKhan's house, and access to the Org's secret pr0n stash.

I also know that at one point, SM's received a slightly larger PM mailbox, but I don't know if that's still the case.
