Thread: Patch and the new flags?

Have any of you noticed the new way the custome battles can be setup? When selecting the faction you have a second flag beside your main one that can be of another faction. However, the second flag does nothing except change the color of the units. What is the purpose of these double flags?

It allows two people to use the same faction. For instance, I could choose English and select a green and yellow colour scheme, you could select English and select a purple and white colour scheme.

Yeah but you are not really using the same faction. If I choose the english and select a danish color scheme I can't use the vikings. (of course assuming I am fighting the danish)

This was one of the most requested features for MP games, and was added for SP custom battles too.

One flag controls troop selection, and several armies can use the same one. The other controls your army colours, and this must be unique for each army as it was before.

Upshot, you can fight eight armies of English troops against one another, provided you pick eight different colours for them.

Soryy for asking you directly GilJaySmith but please say you did not forget to make this feature available for the single player campaign, please? Changing the colours of the armies is one of my top priorities right now as some are simply too bright.

AND, the other thing the color flags do is set who is positioned WHERE in the deployment, so, it's more than just for show. pick the almohad colors and you'll be the middle guy in the deployment. pick some other one and that will determine where your deployment zone is. the factions flags give you control of what UNITS are available to you. the color flags are also position flags as well as color, but have NOTHING to do with which units you can use.

Lol sounds like some strange side effect rather than a proper feature, lucky target doesn't come to the forums as offen as before, or he'll kill me.
