    Default Eras?

My apologies if this has been brought up before, but it doesn't have a clearly labled topic on the front page, so I figured it could, at least, use one.
    So...here's my question.

Will EB2 have eras? Sort of like the Early, High and Late periods of MTW? Or the Early/Late periods in Stainless Steel?

I dont know about other people, but quite honestly, I get pretty tired of playing through the Republican era of Rome when all I really want to do is break out the legions and run around Europe kicking barbarian ass.

So, my humble suggestion is to divide up the game based on the Roman reforms, since they're a nice clear delineation that a lot of people know fairly well, as opposed to, say, the periods of the breakup of the Seleucids, or the Greek military reforms. I supposed arbitrary dates would work well too, but that somehow seems a bit less fun.

No, it is unlikely that we will include multiple campaigns dealing with diffferent parts of our timeperiod. The sheer amount of work that goes into researching, designing and implementing our start-date of 272 makes such a prospect daunting if not impossible for oour team to complete.

Although on the research angle, hasn't a lot of the work for the 272 start date already been done for EB1?
It began on seven hills - an EB 1.1 Romani AAR with historical house-rules (now ceased)
Heirs to Lysimachos - an EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR with semi-historical houserules (now ceased)
    Philetairos' Gift - a second EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR

Yeh but they are adding ten new factions. So theyve got a load of work to do there and then they've got to work out a balance that works in-game. I'm sure thats no small task.

Well yes. However, it has to be reappraised for the different mechanics that form that part of EBII. However, just because we've researched one start date it doesn't mean we are going to start researching another. Research is only one small part of the puzzle, we also have to work out how to and then implement that research.

I'm going to make this clear for everyone, we are not going to include other start dates for the campaign.
