some roleplay it, and have custom battles to deside fates, and remove units and kill off/exile family members. I dont play as rome myself.

custom battles, use your MP version of EB for the proper units.

You play the AI, or you could arrange someone to play the otherguy online. Depending on who wins, you disband units. So if 3 units rout on side A and 2 rout on side b you disband those 2 units on the campaign map. if side A kills B's general you kill that guy off thru console on the campaign map. You just gotta do all the campaign map movement yourself.
You can do this for any faction to RP civil wars.

This way you can reinact Julius Caesar and Pompey Magnus' civil war by the battle and manoeuvre!

i dont rp sieges, field battles are much easier to do.

As far as I know there are no script events concerning the civil war, as it would happen rather late in the EB time period, and the possibilities for alternatives the history takes until then is very very high.

Celtic Punk just tried to describe a way how you could roleplay a civil war yourself using console commands etc.

If you are a decent Roman player, it is HARD to get Italy proper to revolt by late game, at least in my experience.

When trying to simulate any of the Roman civil wars I usually disband the garrisons of the settlements in question, destroy a squalor-decreasing structure ( OOC ), wait for them to rebel and then make some legions out of them with the create_unit command.
To supplement these, as they are sure to be bereft of any officers above captains I usually have nurtured some infamous rebel FM´s someplace which I then teleport to the location ( where the battle I wish to represent took place ) together with an upgrade of traits if necessary and some legions.

When I already had a large Makedonian empire in my ongoing campaign, I simulated a Greek uprising. Just set taxes to high, evacuate your governors, and destroy all happiness buildings until you get some 40 - 50% happiness only. They will rebel and spawn some decent units. If you desire, spawn additional appropiate units for them.
