Gentlmen, I have just recieved a message from the King of Greece, apparantly he is of the impression that this is the proposed borders:

We are understandably a little confused, considering that austria told the conference that the new borders would be this:

It would be apreciated if the honorable gentlmen in Austria would clear up this confusion.

Statement of Josef Ludwig von Armansperg, President of the Privy Council of Greece:

    "Internal Reforms

Last week His Majesty, mindful of public good will and good order and after consulting leading members of society, instituted the composition of a Council of State to be headed by Petros Mavromichalis who is also made a Privy Counsellor. Upon the Councils advice His Majesty has ordered that supression of the Monasteries shall cease. The Council of State, with his Majesties consent has announced a large investment program worth 5m talers per year for 5 years which will be given as loans to private businesses specialising in factories and ship building.

King Othon and Queen Amalia are today undergoing baptism into the Orthodox Greek faith. King Othon is named 'King of the Greeks'.

General Yannis Makriyannis is appointed Commander in Chief of his Majesties Forces and Privy Counsellor.

The Balkans and the Frankfurt Conference

His Majesty and the Council of State welcome the consideration of the Great Powers in regard to Greece at the recent Conference. Having received assurances that neither Austria nor Russia will make a seperate peace until the boundaries on the map here: https://imageshack.us/a/img831/2012/newborders.jpg are achieved and accepted by the Sultan His Majesty has today issued such demands to the Sultan. The Sultan has one week to consider our demands. Accordingly and upon the advice of General Yannis Makriyannis the Council of State and his Majesty have agreed to call for volunteers for military service. Volunteers can sign up in Nafplio and in Athens.

We urge those Greeks currently in Ottoman lands who are at liberty to do so, to return to the homeland and take up arms to regain your lands currently under under Oppression. Arms and training will be given you and God willing Hagia Sophia cleansed, ancient lands restored and Christian rule returned to ancient Greek homelands."

It would have been nice if the conference didn't have to become aware of changes to the plans from an NPC, approval from the entire concert should be attained before changes are made in future. As for this change, Britain has no objections.

We are sorry about the inconvenience. We are going to take drastic measures with our cartographers and assure you that in future, better and more detailed ones are presented.

As we are known to be benevolent. No executions are required. Few years and winters at Balkan mountains drawing local geographical local maps will bring forth necessary interest for details.

Letter to H.I.M. Kaizer Franz Joseph

I would like to humbly wish my Emperor a glorious reign that is to maintain the peace and stability of the Empire and the Dynasty. This is not an easy task but during the years, I had the honour to observe how His Imperial Majesty mastered the art of politics and warfare. Unfortunately, my health does not allow me to stand to my Emperor now. However, I leave the office I have occupied for three decades in safe hands. Furst zu Schwarzenberg is a loyal servant to the Dynasty, skilled in diplomacy and politics; in other words, a man the Dynasty and the Empire needs.

I now seize the opportunity to devote the rest of my time to my family, my friends and may finally begin my memoirs. Saying this, I stay a loyal servant of the Dynasty, the Emperor, and the Empire.

Klemens Wenzel, Prince von Metternich, ex-Chancellor of the Austrian Empire

P.S. I cast a look on this wonderful Interactive and now I find I am again one with the character I have played so long. We are both retired Well, historically, Metternich still helped the new Emperor in one or two diplomatic missions. That might be interesting, though right now I am not even sure I will have time for that as well. But thank you guys, it's been really a wonderful experience to get back to this thread. ~:p

According to newspapers all over the German lands there is reports of suppression of German people in the Danish controlled lands. In one small riot, 20 German were reported killed and 100 arrested. The German people are outraged on this matter and they are awaiting the Prussian/Austrian government response to Denmark........

France demands a statement of the King of Denmark. And he urges the Concert to come to a resolution to end this trouble before it gets out of control.

Austria has already proposed to move the Schlesvig- Holstein issue to the London conference. We must point out that our government is extremely pressed with machinations of the Austrian succession and with the war with Ottomans.

That may be so my Austrian brothers, but I am worried about riots up north. I will be glad to take care of the problem now or in London while Austria is busy with your revolutions. If you need any help let me know troop wise.

    To all French Citizens!

Today I, Louis-Philip, King of the French, want to give you a picture of the current state of the nation and the future of our nation.

During the age of the Ancien Regieme and the Revolution, our nation passed through dark periods of suppression and insecurity. Both extremes led our people into disaster. Since I took responsibility of the government, I tried to heal the wounds and to find the right balance between freedom and regulation.

At the beginning of our reign, France was an isolated and disdained country. Today, our nation is a well respected member of the concert of Europe and a guarantor for stability and wealth at Europe. French diplomacy had a big share of the successful solution of the Balkan crisis. Lately our alliances with the Benelux and the cooperation with the Greek army demonstrated the important role of France.

Today France is a strong and reliable nation, surrounded by friendly neighbors. She is well protected by her armed forces. Although our forces are relatively small, they are extremely powerful. It is one goal of my policy to further increase the military strength of our nation. The navy is already modernizing and the modernization of our army will soon begin.

Besides the protection of the nation it is one important goal of my policy to increase the wealth of the nation. Trade agreements, scientific achievements, improvements of the infrastructure, a new education system and reforms of the administration caused a rapid improvement of the wealth of our country. We will go.

However, we see that the new wealth is not reality for all French citizens. Therefore I have already passed special edicts for the industrial and agricultural workers. Today, child labor is abolished, pension and health funds established. However, there is still a lot to do to make the working citizens participate in the wealth of our nation. Therefore I instructed my ministers to work on a law to allow freedom of strike, so that workers can get fair wages. Unions are allowed. However, the right to strike is limited to economic issues, political strikes are forbidden. Furthermore, I decided to limit the maximum of weakly working hours to 70, working hours in public owned factories are limited to a maximum of 60 hours per week. I also introduce a minimum wage for industrial workers. A royal inspector is announced to give regulation to avoid accidents at work. Finally, I want the introduction of industrial share based funds for workers, so that even people with low income can participate in the raise of our economy. These funds should be managed by the unions.

As I said at the beginning of my speech, I am trying to find the right balance between freedom and regulation. Lately, we all heard about disquietness at Southern France. I do not know exactly what the issue is, but I can assure those people that if they have reasons to complain, I will take care. I already sent a royal inspector to the affected provinces. However, disorder and violence will not be tolerated at all.
As I see that the order in our country is growing stronger, I decided to give more freedom. I made following decisions:

    - women have the same rights and duties as male citizens except the right to serve in the armed forces;
    - every citizen has the same rights at the justice
    - as mentioned before, there is the right to strike
    - mayors and governors of the provinces will be determined by free and equal elections
    - the French parliament will consist of two chambers; the first chamber will be elected by a all French citizens which pay at least a certain amount of taxes or served in the armed for forces for at least 20 years; the second chamber will be elected by all other citizens.
    - All laws as well as the budget tabled by the Royal government have to be agreed by at least one of these chambers. Excluded are all laws regarding military, war and foreign affairs, which can be decided by the King himself.

Today France is the leading nation in culture, technology, science and economy. It is our task to give the advantages of our culture to other nations and to fight slavery and barbarism.

French citizens, we all are looking to a bright future. The government had created opportunities for all. Use them. To each and every citizen I say: Get rich!
    And happy!

I assume that I speak for the concet when I say that King Christian VIII of Denmark, Duke Christian August II of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Charles XIV John of Sweden are free to attend or send representatives to the london conference and Britain extends an invitation to each.

OOC: You might be best expecting late orders, my first week of Greenwich University has so far been quite hectic. Also, Fraconius can I borrow your speechwriter? I've been running out of fertilizer recently.

    From La Gazette:

    Ottoman Sultan insults France.
As we heard from the foreign ministry it received a message from the sultan of the Ottoman Empire today. We quote:

    Blasphemer and Infidel!

You help Greeks and then address me as 'Dear'? Restore Cyprus to me and I may spare your accursed eyes. Your Ambassador is expelled and our relations severed unless I receive 15 million talers in compensation with apologies within a month.

Will the King tolerate such a behavior never seen on the diplomatic field before. We hope he will not! We hope he sents our Royal Navy to send him the apologies he deserves.

OOC: So I just had a couple of pms from Secura (the admin). Seems Jan's account has been "suspended", not sure why but I suppose something has happened which is wrong. Secura has offered to help find a replacement player; "is there anything else I can do to arrange a replacement?".

All a bit puzzling to me but we shall have to regard Jan as a casualty of Schleiswig Holstein riots.
