I, Ibrahim Pasha, newly appointed Wãli of Crete hereby give my oath of fealty to Mahmud II, Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. I'll also pay a tribute befitting my new position at the first possible opportunity. As conflict still ravage this smal island, this tribute will have to wait until more quieter times.

A statement from the English court

We call upon the central powers of Europe to step back from war. The expansionist policies of Austria will only result in a catistrophic war across all of Europe - something none of us wants.

To make England's position crystal clear - we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Northern European allies Prussia and the Netherlands - any attack or aggression against them on land or sea we view as an attack on us and will constitute an unprovoked act of war against England. Our forces are currently striving to bring an end to slavery and stopping the hotbed of revolution that is the USA spreading their cancerious rebellion to the soverign states of all Europe, but we will not hesitate to support our Allies if they are attacked.

As to the Americans I say this - we have made a more than fair peace offer to you and you choose to ignore it. That offer still stands but if you choose to continue your resistance then your lands will burn from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian borders. Your economy will be in tatters, your forces are powerless to stop our forces striking whereever they wish. This is the last chance for you and your government - are their no wise heads there to realise the dire situation you are in. To the enslaved peoples of the USA your day of freedom is at hand - soon our forces will liberate you and you will be able to repay the persecution of the last 200 years - take up arms against your oppressors now.

As for the infedel Turks - perhaps the Sultan should keep to the affairs of the harem as opposed to affairs of state. Your attack on Morroco will not be forgotten and the reach of our fleet is long. Other so called Christian rulers of Europe see fit to deal with the slaughters of good Christian folk, but we will not tolerate such actions. Our Christian brothers in Greece and Crete need our help - will the Christian rulers of Europe heed their call??

I thought the downfall of Lord Liverpool gave lessons to the British politicians. Unfortuantely, I am disappointed to see that the new Lord Canning continues with the offensive course of his predecessor. Instead of healing the wounds of the Hannover deal, he continues to point at Austria as an agressor and wages wars on almost all the possible frontiers ignoring the viable interests of Great Britain. Perhaps it is the time, Lord Canning, to reconsider your policy. The Hanover deal handled unlawfully an entire Kingdom to Prussia, disregarding the rights of the true heir of the Kingdom, and was done without any agreement from the German Confederation and our allies from Russia and France who are directly affected by the illegal growth of Prussia.

As far as the Eastern question is concerned, your opinion is a very weird one. You smashed the rebellions in La Roshelle and Ireland with extreme cruelty but now, during the crisis in the Ottoman Empire you diligently defend the rebels. Is it because you are attempting to destabilise Eastern Europe with rebellions like the Greek one? In a previous conversation between my Kaiser and Tzar Alexander the First of Russia it has been confirmed that neither Austria, nor Russia will support the Greek rebels. Therefore, the Ottoman Empire can safely restore the peace in its provinces avoiding extreme cruelty and continuing the viable reforms.

How can you compare the brave Christian freedom fighters of Greece who struggle against the very enemy who a few scant years ago threatened your very capital with the revolutionary rabble who our forces dealt with in La Rochelle and Ireland?

And if yout anti- rebellion zeal is so strong, why do you not stand shoulder to shoulder with my forces against the motherland of all rebellion - the USA?

Our forces may appear aggressive, but they have a job to do and we will not flinch from our Christian duty of crushing rebellion, abolishing slavery and defending fellow Christians.

I am very disturbed by the actions of the English,Americans and the Austrians,among others. I wish to have no war around my lands and will defend France if we are invaded. Perhaps we can have an Congress of Paris to discuss the problems of Spain, Hannover and the US-GB war?
