Avatar mini mod, an open developement mini mod for Medieval II: Total war.
Hello reader of these words, I'm annoucing you a project for Medieval II: Total War. The main goal of this project is to make a mod for M2TW that is set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. There is a serie about that is set in this universe on Nickelodeon. The serie is amazingly populair. That is the reason why I wanted to make a mini mod about this subject. In the first place I thougt that there wouldn't be many people interested in this mop. But there's. That is the reason that I want to reintroduce the mod with a whole new system of making models and other things.
These are the things I want to implent in the first release:
1. Having at least 4 factions.
2. A basic roster for each faction with units wo can't bend.
3. A campaign map.
The rest will all be like in vanilla M2TW. If you want to see more things in the first release, please post them. Maybe I can do something with it
What is open developement?
This forum has very much mods. But there aren't enough modellers. And because I want to be more active on other mods I introduced this system for my mod. The idea is also used in the modding of a popular game serie: Grand Theft Auto. It will work als followed, lets take the mod's units as a example:
There will be a list of the roster for every faction. Every model will be included with pictures of what to model and additional information. You can then "hire" an unit to model and/or skin it. If the unit is ready there will be a screenshot of it posted in the 3D Program as a wireframe and fully shaded with textures. So other poeple can learn from it. After that follows the most important screen, an ingame screenshot. You don't have to be very good to participate. Everyone is allowed to model for this mod. But the models have to be qualified by the mod leader or co leader (function is still free). Here follows an example like I'm going to do it:
Dismounted Conquistadores

Additional Information: Dismounted Conquistadores were units who's mission was to conquer the new world. They are very strong units with half steel plate armor and razor steel swords.

Modellers and skinners with this system are more free to do what they want. You don't have to be member of a mod. Making one unit is enough to make it to the credits. In my mod you will be free to use the program that you want. If you are very good with milkshape. But you don't know how to skin? No problem, if someone else hires the skinning part he/she does the skinning part. And if no one of the two can put it ingame. Someone else how hired the "putting ingame" part will do it for you.

The Fire Nation
Strength: The most developed faction of all who have the best army of the 4 nations. They are specialised in Heavy Infantry and Heavy Cavalry with havy armour
Weakness: Are smaller in numbers then the battle hardened soldiers of the Earth Kingdom who have specialised their warfare against them.

The Water Tribe's
Strength: The northern part of the Water Tribe has never been in a serieus war with the fire nation except at The Siege of The North. The climate were they live is deadly for the firebenders. The Northern water tribe has powerfull benders with much levied non-benders support. The Southern Water Tribe is more specialised in very powerful and elite non-bender heavy infantry.
Weakness: Completely lacking in Cavalry and start with small army's and only a few provinces.

The Air Nomads
Strength: Excellent negotiaters who are specialised in bringing peace. The rest of the world is issolated from them so they don't know what they can bring to the battlefield if they are getting involved in a war...
Weakness: Completely lackingin warfare and if they are in a war they fight defensively.
