Thread: Unable to launch game through mymod.bat

Default Unable to launch game through mymod.bat

I am completely new to this modding business, but very eager to get into the files and mixture with them. :)

Now I followed the steps in this guide:

    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=76289

I tried both the mod folder approach and the io file approach, but both yield the same result: when I try to launch the mymod.bat a command prompt pops up for a few miliseconds and then nothing happens. I managed to get a screenshot where I could see the message and it said (translated from swedish):

medieval2.exe is not an internal command, external command, program or command file
Which makes no sense to me as when I click the medieval2.exe file manually the game launches...

Second question: In the above linked guide it is suggested that you test if you set it up right through editing the name of a city, in the file text/imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt. However I am quite unable to locate that file at all...

    Any help much appreciated. :)

Default Re: Unable to launch game through mymod.bat

Having thought about this it may have something to do with the patches. I did the same thing when my game was 1.1 (never tried any actual modding, but managed to launch the game through my mymod.bat file), but as I experienced problems with upgrading to 1.2 I reinstalled the whole game and then tried patching to 1.2 again. It worked, but now I couldn't start the game from my mymod.bat file.

Not sure what use this information is but thought I'd post it.

    Thanks for any help. :)
