    Default Update for RTW

    Hi All
I haven't played Rome for several months and have been reading some topics on the game being updated. I would appreciate any info anyone has on updated version of RTW, which patched I'd need etc to play the most updated version. I also need to get my self a new copy of the game. Thanks

Hello Dienekes', Welcome to the .org!

I don't believe there have been any more updates released to RTW within the last few months, CA has been focused on Empire as far as I know.

I believe the most up to date version of RTW: BI is 1.6, while the most updated version for RTW is 1.5.

Depends on what version you are playing currently. 1.5 mainly reduced the memory leak of version 1.3, making it faster on old systems. 1.3 however fixed two major combat engine bugs as well as the load-save issue with the strategic A.I.

hello there, Dienekes'--great to have you with us! no--i don't know of any new patch for RTW, but if you like something a little different, try downloading XGM (extended Greek mod): same game, slightly different (improved, should i say?) units, more kinds of units, etc. or you could try RTR (Rome Total Realism): same game, also slightly different (heps, RTR pipol, don't snipe at me by protesting RTR is VASTLY different!), also a refreshing adventure. or you could go all the way, way out by downloading Europa Barbarorum [version 1.1 is what i currently play]--the only thing i find not-nice about it is that it loads so slo-oo-oo-oowly, but it's a superlative game.
    have some great fun. Hawooh.

Yeah, XGM is worth giving a try. It does a great job of balancing historical accuracy with vanilla playability. I've played various other mods, such as EB, RTR, Troy: Total War, SPQR, Roma Surrectum, and Paeninsula Italica, but I always find myself going back to XGM at some point.
