This is an interesting CTD which I can't figure out how to get around. Playing as Romani, 192 BCE, used Ferromancer's BI installer + Force Diplomacy. Tried with FOW on and off. What happens is that the AI gets thru all factions, including Saba, but when it reaches Ptolies (who go after Saba), they move their units, then it *appears* that a large SABA army magically appears at their capital (Jerusalem) and besieges the city, causing a CTD. Any help would be appreciated as I have not been able to locate an invisible general. And I like this campaign too. I really don't want to reload from an earlier save.
EDIT: Also, if you try to go thru the AI turn with FOW off, it crashes during Saka, but not when FOW is on. I also just tried bribing the nearby Saba armies but no luck; it just crashed during Ptolies turn anyways with no magic army being spawned. If this wasn't their capital I'd just take the city and see if I could ride it out. Curses.

Perhaps you should try to teleport a unit between the combatants, and see which of them are causing the crash. You should be able to glean the name of the general in the pre-battle screen, and you can then teleport that one away to a remote island. If this is the true problem, that is.

I tried everything I could think of, from bribing all Saba units in the vicinity to making territory mine, etc. It still crashed even without a mysterious Saba army spawning, and it appeared to be something the AI was trying to do in Jerusalem (Hieroslyma?). I'll keep plugging away and if all else fails, go to one of my earlier saves.

Now I'm really annoyed. I bribed a general, spawned some artillery in his army, and took Hierosolyma, and yet the CTD STILL happened during the Ptolie AI turn. I am now faced with performing the least desirable option of eliminating the Ptolies and distributing their 4 remaining territories among the neighbors. If that doesn't work I'll probably just revert to an old save and hope for the best.
EDIT: Perhaps would nerfing the EDCT work?

Well eliminating the Ptolies got me by the CTD. I'll eventually revisit the crash to see if I can figure out what it was, since it was definitely keyed to something happening during the Ptolie turn. If anyone does take a look at the save and figures out how I can save it and keep the Ptolies I'd much appreciate it since I liked the dynamic that was going on in Mikra Asia and the Levant.

If eliminating them got past it, you should be able to get past it also by taking control over them.
