Love this game! Still learning battle tactics (definitly not good enough for online MP yet tho)and I'd like to watch the replays of others battles that have been posted here, but ....... how do you play the .mrp files?

While in the game, click single player, then click view replays, select from a list if you have any of them saved/copied in the folder /SaveGames/Battles, and enjoy.

The fastes way to get better is to play humans who are willing to point out your deficiencies. I'm willing to give you some help, I'll email you.
