Thread: How do I change the AOR for Gaesatae?

Default How do I change the AOR for Gaesatae?

It turns out that the Gaesatae AOR was reduced A LOT in 1.1 from previous version to keep the AI from spamming them. BUT, I don't care about that issue as it has nothing to do with history.

SO, how would I make the Gaesatae recruitable in more provinces of Gaul for the Aedui/Arverni?????

    thx fellas.

Actually, the Gaesatae AoR reduction had an element of historical accuracy to it as well. The Gaesatae were a select group that only lived in a small area. The new AoR represents this, the old one represented that they were mercenary-like and could be hired by people who didn' necessarily own the land where the Gaesatae lived. ...IIRC...

That being said, you'd have to edit the recruitment lines in the export_descr_buildings.txt. If you had the old EDB it would be a lot easier to do the edit since the hidden resources for recruitment are so complex.

    HOLLYS********************!
    that export_descr_buildings is CREAZY!!!!!!!!!!

I can sorta make out what is written and saw the Gaesatae but damn...... And I ain't got the old EBD file (and even if I had, I wouldn't get the new cool units of 1.1 )

so wtf do I do???? I see the "barracks" part, the faction name, the gov't and some reform thing.... but I don't a province name anywhere. I when I a Find, there are no province names anywhere.

    ----------------
p.s with regards to the historical aspect of the recruitment.... IIRC.... it is true that the Gaesatae were mercs but they only (or mostly) employed themselves to fellow Gauls and Hannibal.

But then again I ain't no expert and this ain't the forum to discuss that.

    Hi
As you noticed there are na province names in EDB, hte provinces are defined by a set of hidden resources. Check a map in this thread https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...=102719&page=4 post 40 by MarcusAureliusAntoninus.

    AWESOMENESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

    I did it!
Thank you MMA, and thank you Gugus.

Btw.... do any of you have an updated version of the map Gugus linked me to. It appears that the settlement letter-and-number code is now different. As I would like to cut back on a few of the settlement that were added (those going deep into eastern europe).
    Thx again fellas
