i don't know if this has an effect or just is coincidence, but a triumphus seems also to be quite good for "popularis"

Many thanks to Hooahguy for this great sig.
Yes doing most things that increase the glory of Rome win battles, take settlements will make someone popular, but the temple of Ceres has always been a dead cert for me. I'll be honest and say I do use it as an exploit when your after the Marian reforms.
I'd be interested to know if a Patrician has ever achieved it.

"tu regere imperio populos, Romane, memento"—"Roman, remember by your strength to rule the Earth's peoples!"
My experience as well.
I now have a 23-year-old plebian with the Popularis trait, a load of influence, and I just got him his first command star in Cisalpine Gaul. Just a few more battles to get that second star, and with a nomination to consul I'll be off to the Marian reforms.![]()

Just wanted to point out, Tarkus, that your general is going to need a third star as well - the list of required traits for the Marian reforms lists "more than 2 command."
hmm...it really sucks because it seems like most of my family members are patricians. Then there's the fact that I've already got a family member who has all the required traits EXCEPT popularis!hmm...maybe I'll just cheat to give him the popularis trait. Would that be workable and/or honorable? -M

well maybe if he is unselfish you can role play he got this trait by caring for the big masses, there have been a few examples of people of the upper class who wanted a better life for the common people
well he is unselfish, so I have that going for me.
How would I go about adding the trait?
I know the forumula is give_trait"character""trait""level number", but how would I apply it to the character? woud it be:
give_trait"SpvrivsFabivsAmbvstvs""popularis"
give_trait"Spvrivs_Fabivs_Ambvstvs""popularis"?
or:
give_trait"Spvrivs_Fabivs_Ambvstvs""popularis""1"
or:
give_traitSpvrivs_Fabivs_Ambvstvspopularis
It seems like there's any number of ways to do it. I tried the first and second ways I mentioned, but they had no effect. Does anybody know how this should be done? -M

Oops...you're absolutely right, Mulceber...I got a bit sloppy with my description there. Thanks much for pointing that out! He's a bad-ass young lad, so hanging out in Cisalpine Gaul for a couple years as cavalry commander under my grizzled veteran barbarian-slasher Aulus Gallicus should help mightily with the command experience. Thanks again!
