Self explanatory.
Wine man myself, though beer is tolerable if there's no alternative.
edit: 3rd option was phrased purely in jest, of course.
Hooahguy 22:56 10-28-2008
im a wine man.....
beer is for kids....
LittleGrizzly 22:56 10-28-2008
Wine.... red, white or pink with spots... its all the same and has a foul taste an even worse after taste and the smell is terrible, wine sucks so badly...
Beer is ok, its bearable and probably one of the tastier forms of alcohol that can actually get you drunk, some of them taste almost as bad as wine but on the whole beer is bearable...
Ill vote beer but the fact is i hardly ever drink... when i do drink it usually spirits...
Beer is for real hardy men! Wine? Pfft wine is for the frogs.
Gotta be beer.
A nice glass of wine with a meal is a very fine thing, but nothing can replace a nice cold beer after work. Lager in the summer, bitter in the winter.

I don't know which is better, I'm too young to drink...

Wine.
Beer is bubbly, yellow sparkly soda pop for girls and Texans who can't take their alcohol in concentrated doses.

Im sure you and the girls talk about all your problems over a nice charddonay?
Wine is only acceptable in boxed form and mixed with vodka and everclear.
Ale... and wine and beer but especially Ale. Not all beer is bad and not all wine is good, etc, etc.

Wine. Beer tastes like a camel's urine (not that I've ever tasted that), though I did tolerate a good Strongbow once.
My absolute favorite wine has to come from a little vineyard in Virginia called Shenandoah Vineyard, which serves an excellent Raspberry Serenade.
My second favorite is Takara brand Plum Wine.

That can be arranged..
Seriously though, I feel that many of you have not actually tasted good beer, which is the real issue here.
Beer>Wine

Beer. Because wine is only good under circumstances, i.e. a romantic evening or while watching the movie "Zorba the Greek." No kidding; just try downing a couple of bottles of hearty red wine while watching that movie. You will never feel more alive in your life.
But beer is for all occasions. It's also much more delicious, goes down easy and comes in a great variety, from Miller High Life to heavy duty Belgian ales. Wine, on the other hand, is either good (i.e. expensive) or nasty.

I'm fairly sure you're confusing beer with champagne here...

And with one mention of '
The Godly Nectar That Is' the thread is almost saved.
I'd take cider over just about anything, but as options are limited I'd have to vote for wine. [Beer is
functional and nothing more, to me.]

Beer. Though there is a depressing dearth of good brews here in the states and I am currently under-age. Having a Belgian-style beer, good microbrew or some such actually tasty American beer tops wine any day. I might have to take wine over crap beer though as at this point I hate crappy beer and I probably couldn't tell the difference between good wine and bad unless I had some more practice.
Sasaki Kojiro 02:51 10-29-2008
Wine is alright, but it's too expensive. My preference would go whiskey>beer>wine.
Also, there is no wine-pong.

Good whiskey is fine stuff.

Beer and ale. If you want to be a real man, go tub-thumpin all night at a gigantic party full of beer and girls. I have to tell you, wine just doesn't hit the spot. Sure, it's good for an uptight, casual dinner, but for a real carousal(I call it the
Little Brother of War), beer comes first(well, girls come first, but... you get the point, eh?! Woot! Woot!).
More of a wine person but I like a good beer. Nothing beats beer as a refreshment on a hot day, and beer goes better with spicy food like curry's and indonesian which I adore. Wine is better as a sit down with a book drink and goes better with mediteranian food, which I adore.

Usually I would prefer wine (for most diners, for a nice drink in the evening).
For some meals (e.g., barbecue), beer is the drink of choice - during summer I also naturally lean more towards a nice cold beer in the evening.
It also depends on what is available - if no decent wine is available (at e.g. on parties or at some restaurants) I rather go for a good beer.
One saying in Bavaria is: "Beer is the bread of the Bavarian!"...True true!
One of the best places for beer drinkers in the world. I live right in it and some of our neigbours are the Czech people who love beer just as much as we do...
Yet, there are some good wines out there, that is not in question. Especially when it comes to dinners with ladies red wine is the drug of choice....
All depends on the setting and the company

Beer is bubby and yellow? The ones I drink are flat and brown. Dunno about the alcohol content either, as I pick them for their taste.

I'm not a big wine fan (Plus I can't afford it

), but I don't mind some beers.
Peasant Phill 11:43 10-29-2008
I like my wine a lot, just as my beer.
I can see how beer would be less accesable than wine as it's more bitter. But soon enough you start appreciating the taste.
I can enjoy a good glass of Grimbergen/Orval/Hommelbier/... with a good book just as much as I could a glass of fine red wine.
If you compare beer with urine, you're drinking the wrong beer, aren't used to drinking beer or possibly both.
Yoyoma1910 17:39 10-29-2008
What about barley wine? The beer that is a wine.
Hi all,
Ok, since this an important and impeccably objective matter I felt it was my duty leave a humble contribution to it. In the region of 1-2 bottles (of RED wine) later and deadly serious as well:
- All real warriors drink wine or mead! Beer, well that is for angry peasants tops!
…Spartans did it, so did the Vikings (mead), knights as well, samurais, yep those too…
(Ok ok, its stretching it a bit, but sake is ricewine you know! …You picky bastard!)
As for beer… errrr…. Beer?!? Um… Lets see…Hmmm… That’s a no, no, no and ah yes… A no…
So there you have it folks! That’s the truth. Beer is not the beverage for warriors; it is wine and/or mead….
You don’t believe me?!? Imagine Conan with a can of Heineken!
Yep I know; it’s ridiculous! I rest my case…

Don’t try to drag in that blasphemous Vallejo pic either! Don’t you dare!

What about the Mesopotanian(sp? The Land of the Two Rivers is what I mean) palm wine? From what I hear, it's been used since the bronze age...
