If CA ever opts for the more realistic and gruesome visuals or warfare, than it will certainly be M.

And that would be amazing. I bet it would sell like Starbucks in a booming economy.

I'm not opposed to the game being more graphic. I think it would be cool to see soldiers get blown to bits by canon instead of just falling down like in MTW2.

But I think they might loose a good customer base as many parents won't let their kids play games rated M...

Well total war games have never been bestsellers really, I know they always want to be but they are not as mainstream of titles as say Command and Conquer or Dawn of War or something. I mean turn based strategy, no matter how you spin it, is a small group of gamers who buy it.

I think with M they will gain some players (Those who want more blood) and lose some gamers (kids whose parents won't buy it with a M.

On the plus side, since it has sexual themes now all the 13 year old boys will be eager to own it, just like GTA IV

Just in case some people don't know what M stands for it's Mature.

ofc it's not really going to include sexual scenes, but it's using some
sort of effects apparently that when u shoot a soldiers leg with a cannon
for example, it will blow off with lot's of blood. This is something I heard early
in it's creation from the website itself. In the trailers it may have not shown
this nor blood due to it having to be censored, for the younger audiences
as u may know u can block blood from the options menu but who the hell
    would honestly do that?

It will differ in countries, as some countries they try & keep their childrens
minds clean u know? Like here in Britain we're known to be one of the most
restrictive when it comes to these sorts of things, or some countries may
not have as much ratings as we do, like maybe they have only a 3+ so that
pickle-splats things up when a 4 year old can watch porn.

    & my RTW is 12+ & MIITW is 16+.

We are all aware what M entails I think, thus posting in this thread. Someone under the description of why the game had M, read the word Sexual Themes, thus we were all joking about it.

No one is 100% sure, why it is there. No one is even sure it's getting a M, this is as much speculation as anything. All we know is the words Blood and Gore are there, and Sexual Themes are there. So you get both, like it or not.

Compared to the modern game market I doubt either will be on the extreme end anyone is imagining (This is TW after all). Still if they put both in there to enough of a degree they get a M.

Blood and gore might be good but since no one has seen it in anything, (Screenshots, Videos, etc) I wouldn't hold your breath on it being all that bloody just yet.

The fact the total war site has not initiated a enter your age before visiting the site protocol, leads me to believe though the game will not be M.

Mature might have a different spelling in some countries & I doubt
that every1 who learns English or is would have an idea of what it
    means.

I believe I've already explained that they've censored it so that
they don't have to put on age restrictions so that you can visit
their sites or publicly watch their trailers.

Maybe, maybe not. It's all speculative.

Thinking back on the recent M rated games, both strategy and non straegy, most sites usually put up that age thing as soon as they decide.

So far, CA has not stated it's M and until they do, it's not really that official.

In mean time we are all just shooting in the air. M may be spelled different in different countries but Mature rating has very specific requirements to hit it, and on US games anyway when they put a M they have to put why it gets a M, in this case Violence was mentioned, and Sexual Themes were mentioned.

I doubt there is anything that racy, just as I doubt there is anything as gory as what you'd see in the Gladiator movie.

That said, judging by fact no CA dev has poped in on this topic and it's been up a bit, i'd assume CA hasn't decided yet.

Maybe there's a third reason why it's M, maybe they added a drinking mini game like GTA IV. haha

I had to watch this movie I think was called "brain eaters" or "brain dead" with my brother, basis
of it is zombies eating humans as usual, it's probably 10-20 years old so it's nearly a
comedy, anyway there were massive gallons of blood used in the movie & one scene
when the main character mashes through zombies with a chainsaw then the scene ended
up with the blood used costing more than the movie itself..

Anyway that was a bit off topic.

Total war has always had cheats, & they r changing their marketing tactic, so who knows if they
have a... hidden scene to unlock.. I think we'll all be looking

If it's BrainDead, it is a comedy, one of Peter Jackson's first films.
