    Exclamation An Alarming Thought

As if the campaign hasn't been long enough, it gains an extra hour overnight as Daylight Savings Time ends. This is the night to set your clocks back an hour.

On the bright side, you get to sleep through that extra hour of campaigning...

One wouldn't think an hour would make much difference in one's body clock, but I usually take up to a week to adjust to this new schedule. I wish they'd just leave it alone. Anyone else struggle with this change?

Huh, we already had ours a week ago.

I actually quite like it, here it's dark by the time I leave work even before the clocks go back so it doesn't make any difference there, while it means I get to work an hour earlier every day without needing to adjust my schedule at all.

In the UK we had ours last week.

I'm with PBI, I quite like the idea. It makes it a bit easier to get up in the morning and its nice and dark when I come home.

I've got absolutely no problem with it but then my sleeping times are changinfg all the time anyway, for example Thursday I went to bed at 4am(actually Friday) and Saturday I got up at 4am so I had a rather short Friday. An hour here or there doesn't really change much then.

What sorcery is this Daylight Savings Time? How can there be day not composed of twenty four hours?

Here's a link: Why do we do it?

Right now my body clock says it is 5am *time to get up rosebud*, but my time clock *the one that pays me at work* says 4am. Maybe the adjustment will be easier when I retire and I can throw away all my clocks and not care what time it is. Stinkin' rat race...

It was last week here, and what's not to like about it? It gives bright mornings for 2 weeks more before the almost eternal darkness comes again. Of course the afternoons goes from twillight to dark, but that's an acceptable loss.

Noticed that Summer time feels like the normal time btw?
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

I actually already knew why we did it. I just wanted to poke fut at the part of the world that thinks our modern world is anymore efficient by screwing up the time by a single hour.

It (the switch-over) annoys me, by reminding me how much my life is so ruled by oppressive clocks. And the fact that I have over 12 clocks/watches to adjust manually twice a year ('up' side: smoke alarm batteries also get changed).

Where I work, it's even more weird: they divide the hour into 100 increments, for pay purposes, so when you're filling out the paperwork for overtime, for example, it'll read: "Begin Route 2514 at 0800, end Route 2514 at 1875. Return Station 1898."

When I quit this gig one day, I'm going at least a year watch-less and clock-less. :)
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.

It makes very little difference to me for the reasons Husar stated, i like the day or 2 of confusion it causes between my friends though...

Another good point is the extra hour of sleep is apprieciated much more in winter, whereas losing the hour of sleep in spring is a fair compromise...

Helpful for me, at least for a week or so, because I got early classes in the morning and it helps me get up.

Two mornings in a row now that I'm waking up *and can't go back to sleep* at 4am because my body clock says it is 5.

Well Queensland is the sunshine state, so we don't need it. On the plus side, it does create 6 timezones in Australia at once.
