Do you, uh, "listen to the advisor" whenever you start the game or load a save?

What I mean is, did you ever not turn on the script by clicking on "Show me How" when the advisor popped up after you loaded a save?

    Jupiter and Jove! 50 BC?!?!

You should have enabled the EB script by now, since you are always reminded to do so when you start a campaign, during the campaign, as well as sometimes during the loading screen phase.

Now, if you haven't enabled the script, you will not get the reforms or the 4 turns per year, which might account for the fact that you're in 50 BC, which very few people reach while playing EB. You do not have to have the advisor enabled to get the "Enable EB script message" from him. Whenever you load a save and then click on a town or a couple of other things as well, you will get that message from the advisor to enable the script.

You should start a new campaign, that would be better. Sorry man.
