I had help in finding the online version of that quote. It being a quote of a quote, of a quote, I also provided the original source ("Our Culture, What's Left of It: The Mandarins and the Masses") - all this to bring Mister Fragony's post into compliance with Backroom Rules.

If you had given due attribution, and a link, and set off your quote as a quote, as you are supposed to do so that readers didn't falsely believe that YOU wrote that material (even though I give you credit for 2 hours later, in a separate post, finally naming the actual author), we wouldn't have this confusion.
