No idea, but good luck whatever you decide!![]()
Mom had it. She was a quilt-maker for decades. Helped her. Good luck.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
I have had tendovaginitis which is in the same family. Actually tendovaginitis (tendon sheath inflammation) can be mistaken for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
I had it surgically removed by the National Norwegian Hockey team surgeon and the scar in my palm is barely noticeable. It had dramatic effect for the good in my case, but I was told I was disposed to this inflammation due to my psoriatic arthritis and had to stop playing land hockey.

I rehab CTR surgeries frequently at work and they're perfectly effective. The only possibly way for them to cut the carpal tunnel band and it not reduce the symptoms completely, is if they misdiagnosed it and the root of the problem was further up the arm, like maybe ulnar nerve compression or something else being compressed in the brachial plexus.
Has your doctor or surgeon had you go through a nerve conduction study yet? It's a fool proof way for them to find out where your nerve is compressed.
