Question not sure if this counts as a bug - movement question

    hey everyone,

i don't think this is a bug, just a query of sorts to see if anyone else has experienced this.

when moving a character, particularly a diplomat, i often choose to pick his route for several turns - i.e. clicking some distance outside of his movement allowance so that you get the green, then red, then blue, then whatever coloured line all lined up. that way i don't have to return to him each turn if i feel he is covering ground where i don't need to engage in diplomacy, and he continues his journey over several turns, each turn i click end turn.

however i've noticed recently that this is not working in EB. precisely, it will not let me click very far outside of my diplomat's green movement allowance zone. has this happened to anyone else? does anyone know the cause of this?

it is not really a problem as such, but it simply means i have to click over to my diplomat each turn to find him and move him again, and with EB running fairly slowly on my computer, that can become tedious and time consuming. any thoughts?

I know what you mean. You were able to line up more turns on vanilla.... not sure what the reason is

Well just don't do it over very long distances. It still works over 3-4 turns, right. Its not an EB thing, per se, more like if the path gets to complicated it cuts off the distance you can tell him to move in one turn, and it may just be that path-finding hasn't been optimised on the eb map.

nope, it works over a turn and a quarter, just about. once i've moved my movement allowance for a turn, then it allows a full red and a bit of blue, but that is once the movement allowance is spent. pre that, it allows full green and a touch of red. like i said, it's not a problem, just a curiosity for me.

    thank you for your help!

Odd? I may work up to 5 turns on the route Alexandreia -> Antiocheia. But then again 3 out of 4 regions had paved roads built, which is in line with my idea that infrastructure of a province may have something to do with it...

i first noticed it across the steppe, north of pahlava's starting position. thought it might just be the steppe. however, i've just tried to do it up italy, and it's not worked there really, and the romans have plenty of roads. so.....who can say? pathfinding probably no?

I can echo that.....in provinces without roads there seems to be problems with the pathfinding AI, but IMHO this was the same in vanilla
