Thread: Reforms and traits

    Default Reforms and traits

    Hi
I have been playing EB for around twelve months now. And have deleted and reloaded the game about ten times, but always with the same problems.

Polybian reforms don't happen after reaching conditions, even having correct MICs.

As regard to reforms, none of the characters ever rise above the rank of praetor, so Marian reforms don't take place, neither when 90 towns are reached, (after several games, one would think the 'trait cursus' would produce at least one rank higer than praetor, when playing until 14AD).

Have tried to cheat by changing 'Data' it has worked once but no longer does so, even after reloading game.

Any ideas, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you activated the script? Problems with polybian reforms are very rare, I think.

    Hi
    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Alas there is also a problem with the script, although it is activated in the 'options', in practice it does not work.

I think i must have 'bum' download, have decided to try a fresh download from a different mirror.

Anyone with 'crashing' problems, should try increasing their RAM, i was playing with 1G of RAM and was plauged with constant crashes, so increased to 3RAM and with great results, it still 'crashes' now and again but less frequently.

The script is to be activated in the game when you enter it. Read this from the FAQ:

Q: What is the "campaign script" and how do I load it?
A: The campaign script is the way EB mods much of the game to introduce new features and gameplay like seasons and stuff. Loading the campaign script is easy. As soon as you start a campaign, and every time after that when you load that game click on any one of your cities. An advisor will pop up telling you to click the "show me how" button. Do this. Now the advisor can be closed if it doesn't do so automatically. Advice does NOT need to be turned on for this to work.

The script has nothing to do with anything in 'options'.

And I have 512MB and haven't got a single crash yet.
