    Default advice in Europa Barbaorum

Hello I am new to EB and RTW.

just wondering if there is any way to get advice given in EB, eg for reccomended construction.
when I click on the icon nothing happens.
I have loaded the EB main script by clicking on the show me how.
Is there no advice given in this mod??

No. Although there are some faction-specific special occasions, such as another faction attacking a certain region(see Koinon Hellenon).

Besides, do you really want one of those annoying bastards popping up every 4 seconds to give worthless, unsolicited advice and insult you?

EB is probably not the best place to start for someone who is totally new to RTW itself. The mod is very complex and involved even for seasoned players, so maybe you might want to give the game a shot in its vanilla state, just to get used to it a bit more, before diving into the beautiful world of EB.

Welcome to the .Org a1s2d3f4g5;2058965. And yes, before you start EB try playing the Tutorial in regular Rome total war, it should help you out a little bit. You should also try some custom battles first too.

Oh it's definitely better, heh. As far as building advice, youre best bet is to just scour the forums and read up on as many faq's and guides as you can. There's plenty to get you started with some knowledge ahead of time before actually playing, just so you can have some sort of strategy in mind. Have fun and don't get discouraged!

you are bound to get advice if you start a thread saying "i'm playing as faction x - any recommendations for what to build early on" or whatever.

i found just spending a little time reading the building descriptions and getting an idea of what they all are helps. in my mind i see trade buildings, military buildings and good governance (happiness/law/health) buildings. you want the first type to get your economy going, second for smacking people about, and third to keep cities happy.

what faction are you playing as?
inde consilivm mihi pavca de Avgvsto et extrema tradere, mox Tiberii principatum et cetera, sine ira et stvdio, qvorvm cavsas procvl habeo.

my advice, regardless of faction, is never build farms. eventually your city will have too many people living in it and you won't be able to keep them all happy, what with squalor and such. trade buildings (markets, ports etc) are a safe bet to keep cash coming in, well worth getting.

just a piece of advice for a new guy to the TW series, and youll probably find this out soon, is that instead of trying to make loads of money by taxing cities try disbanding a few units of soldiers, since that way you dont have to pay them and they can become citizens (aka, taxpayers )

just try to keep that in mind, and welcome to the game/forum!
Pull the trigger and hope it clicks

I generally like to have at least one "recruiting center". a city i make sure to build a blacksmith in, possibly install a level 4 government for the experience upgrade, and build a field of games or any other structures that enhance troops and where i spend a lot of time and money upgrading my faction and regional barracks. then i will recruit most of my units from here while building up markets, ports, and temples in other cities.

edit: checking the recruitment viewer for a faction before trying them out in game will help you decide the best locations for "recruitment centers"
